Launched exclusively for Korean market in December 2011, All-new Ray is the first EV in the world to be assembled on the same production lines with its regular combustion-engine sibling. Powered by a 50kW electric motor and advanced 16.4kWh lithium-ion polymer batteries, EV Ray can run up to 86 miles on a single charge. Plus, using a 220V outlet, the battery only needs six hours to be fully charged on "slow charge" mode, and 25 minutes on "fast charge" mode. The EV model's 167 Nm of torque ensure ample power and responsive performance, with a top speed of up to 81 miles per hour. The automatic transmission offers drivers the choice of two modes -- "E," (eco), which optimizes the delivery of torque for battery efficiency, or "B" (brake), which maximizes braking power when driving downhill, on highways or on mountain roads. With the same striking exterior styling, the Ray EV distinguishes itself from its gasoline sibling by a unique instrument cluster that displays electric motor operation, battery status and distance to recharge. Also, EV-specific navigation system on a 7-inch screen provides crucial information for EV drivers, such as the nearest locations of slow/fast recharging stations or reachable destinations within battery limit.
