Trailer to the planned film on Milton H.Erickson, directed by Alex Vesely. Milton H. Erickson revolutionized the world of psychotherapy with his novel and effective approach. Eventually his approach was tabbed, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. His ideas inspired many professionals, and became the basis of many new schools of brief therapy, including strategic therapy, interactional therapy, Rossis mind/body approach, solution-focused therapy, NLP, outcome-oriented therapy, and the self-relations approach. This documentary explores the life and work of Milton Erickson to provide a picture of the man was thought of as the "Mozart of communication."Dr. Erickson died in 1980, but his work continues to spread around the world. This film takes a look at how todays leading professionals in the field are building on Ericksons ideas; how Erickson has influenced their way of working; and how they envision the future of psychotherapy.

Legendary rock n roll pioneer Roger Kynard "Roky" Erickson hails from Austin, Texas. He is, in the words of music writer Richie Unterberger, one of "the unknown heroes of rock and roll." As singer, songwriter, and guitar player for the legendary Austin, TX band The 13th Floor Elevators, the first rock and roll band to describe their music as "psychedelic", Roky had a profound impact on the San Francisco scene when the group traveled there in 1966. While bands such as The Grateful Dead and The Jefferson Airplane had the their roots in traditional acoustic folk music, the Elevators unique brand of heavy, hard-rocking electric blues pointed to a new direction for the music of the hippie generation. The Elevators only had one chart hit, the Roky-penned You're Gonna Miss Me, but their influence was far reaching. REM, ZZ Top, Poi Dog Pondering, The Judybats, T-Bone Burnett, Julian Cope, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Cramps, The Minutemen, Television, The Cynics, The Lyres, Teisco Del Rey, The Fuzztones and Radio Birdman have all either recorded or played live versions of Roky's songs. In addition to these performers, Roky is an acknowledged influence on such diverse musicians as Robert Plant, Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, Henry Rollins, Mike Watt, Sonic Youth, The Butthole Surfers, Jon Spencer, The Damned, Red Krayola, Pere Ubu, and current indie hit-makers The White Stripes. When her hand became cataleptic (Stayed in place) she was hypnotized. I then formalized the state by pushing her hand down and saying "Sleep" However you could just look at the person and say "sleep!" I then moved into some hypnotic phenomena and some random skits. From the album 'Never Say Goodbye', released in 1999 As frontman for the incendiary 13th Floor Elevators from 1965 to 1968, outsider singer-songwriter Roky Erickson helped fuse the raw excitement of garage rock with the spiritual seeking and sublime silliness of the farthest-reaching psychedelic rock. Never Say Goodbye showcases Erickson's solo style--the songs are strong (if idiosyncratic), the lyrics delicately wrought and informed by a Christian sensibility. The fidelity approaches that of an Edison cylinder, but it somehow fits the material just fine--the tunes dig so nakedly and unpretentiously into the human heart, they sound like they come from Mars. Mostly recorded between 1971 (when he was still interned in Rusk State Hospital during a three-year stint for possession of marijuana) and 1974, Never Say Goodbye is wholly recommended despite its sound quality; there are no other known versions of these songs. On each tune, Erickson tosses off pure pop hooks ("I've Never Known This 'Til Now") with seemingly total ease and croons in that Buddy Holly-esque, high-pitched voice of his, which never falters. Most of all, his lyrics and spirit demonstrate true grace and love in the face of far worse.
