Astronomers have accurately measured the diameter of the faraway dwarf planet Eris for the first time by catching it as it passed in front of a faint star. This event was seen at the end of 2010 by telescopes in Chile, including the Belgian TRAPPIST telescope at ESO's La Silla Observatory. The observations show that Eris is an almost perfect twin of Pluto in size. Eris appears to have a very reflective surface, suggesting that it is uniformly covered in a thin layer of ice, probably a frozen atmosphere. The results will be published in the 27 October 2011 issue of the journal Nature. In November 2010, the distant dwarf planet Eris passed in front of a faint background star, an event called an occultation. These occurrences are very rare and difficult to observe as the dwarf planet is very distant and small. The next such event involving Eris will not happen until 2013. Now astrophysicists from the University of Zurich present the world's first realistic simulation of the formation of our home galaxy together with astronomers from the University of California at Santa Cruz. It will default back to not allow after you have installed. This is just a demonstration of how Panda works, and in Part 2 of this video I will go a little further into it and demo some apps that work well with Panda. Panda is a free home replacement, like Open Home, GDE, and aHome, which are all paid. The great thing about Panda is that most of the themes, keyboards, fonts packs & icon packs that are made specifically for those paid home apps will work with Panda anyway. Some don't but most do. This allows you to get some of the paid stuff for free. If you don't quite understand the concept, look at it this way: HTC Sense is an independent user interface that overlaps android. Panda is the same idea basically. You can flip between Panda and Sense by pressing your "home" key on the bottom. Once you are in Panda, you can kill out HTC Sense and any HTC Sense apps or widgets because they aren't being used at all when you are in Panda. It's your choice, but it frees up so much memory. Say you want to run the HTC clock/weather widget on Sense, you can download a similar app in the market and run it on Panda, because it will be installed as a separate Android Widget. Droid users who want the HTC "look" do this. The only real difference is the slider on the bottom, which is very handy because you can launch the dialer from any screen in Sense.

Occultation of a 16 magnitude star by dwarf planet Eris on November 6th, 2010. The observation was performed with a 40 cm. robotic telescope from The Andalusian Astrophysics Institute (Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía, Granada, Spain) and Astroimagen ( www.astroimagen.com ). The telescope is located at San Pedro de Atacama (Chile). The star can be seen centered in the field, where the arrow is pointing, and it clearly shows how it disappears beneath Eris disk, and how it shortly emerges afterwards. This occultation will allow to determine very precisely the size of the object. Eris is a trans-Neptunian object and the most distant object for which such an occultation has been detected, being at 96.6 Astronomical Units at the moment at which the occultation occurred.

What is a Trans-Neptunian Object (TNO) Plutoid?... Any object orbiting the sun beyond Neptune are called 'Trans-Neptunian Objects'. When it's a Dwarf Planet orbiting beyond Neptune, it's then called a 'Plutoid'. I will be making a video about this in the future. Ok I've got a thick juicy plot for ya'll :D Ariel and Eris are both Goddess', they don't really get along Eris likes to stir stuff up and Ariel is sweet and innocent. One day Eris is looking for her next victim and Ariel speaks up but then they see a mortal and both fall for him Ariel knows it's wrong to meddlle so she resists, Eris on the otherhand call Ariel weak and says she'll make him her play thing (or something like that) Eris goes to the mortal in her Goddess form but he rejects her (most greek myths would have nicer endings if the men did this). She gets pissed and tries to drown him. Ariel of course saves him. She then turns herself human to be with him. A god can't stay human forever, it's hard to hide who they truely are-almost painful. So Ariel starts having conflicting feelings and Eris takes advantage of that. She turns herself human and casts a spell on sinbad. Ariel's heart broken. Sinbad finds out that the woman he's been wih is actually Eris and he rejects her...again. So she's super peeved. Ariel senses Sinbad is in danger and saves him by standing up to Eris! Woot woot for happy endings! ooh yea I didn't make Ariel and Sinbad end up together for a reason. I think it's important to be true to yourself and in this vid that's what ariel had to do.
