Slow Motion sugar glider in stealth exercise wheel

A single sugar glider playing in her exercise wheel at tent time. The fast motion camera requires a good amount of light so I had to wait in the dark for her to be running or spinning on it and then I would turn on the lamp and record what I could. The light naturally disturbed her and she would usually just stop running. Gliders need exercise wheels for mental stimulation when kept in a cage, and they immediately begin to find ways to have fun in them which includes riding them around and around after running them up to speed as well as leaping in the air to do cartwheels. 18 inch sugar glider exercise wheel

I threw together this 18" exercise wheel tonight and put it into this 30" x 30" cage that I have been using for playtime. The sugar gliders took right to it and started doing their usual acrobatic moves. This is just a prototype design and isnt the safest thing around right now, but it gives me a good starting point to making a safer extra-large wheel. I wasnt able to capture anything grand on video tonight so I think I'll give it a try inside of the tent sometime and see what I can get. These little gliders truly are amazing in the dark.
