On saturday, the F-14 Tomcat demo by VF-101 "Grim Reapers" at the 2005 NAS Oceana Air Show located in Virginia Beach, VA. Sept. 17th, 2005. This was one of the final Tomcat demonstration prior to sundays official final Tomcat demonstration. Also in this video VF-101 utilizes one of the jets from VF-32 "Swordsmen". F-14 Tomcat by Art-Tech RC EDF jet MAIDEN FLIGHT BABY!!
My first flight of Art-Tech's Sweep Wing F-14 Tomcat. I modified this jet to use elevon mixing (to help with rolls when wings are swept), added a servo slow for the sweep wing, and also added a UBEC. This jet is pretty underpowered as you'll see! I also had issues with twitching servos, which I've never experienced on several other Art-Tech products. Overall, it certainly needs some work out of the box and it is SURELY not for a beginner nor is it a good first EDF.

You know I cant leave this stock - so with a few upgrades from www.Nitroplanes.com and http this EDF is going to be converted into a sky screamer. I will be putting in 2 5250KV EDF systems, equipt with dual Exceed RC 60A ESC's. I have decided to go ahead and switch it over to a Spektrum DX7 DSM 2 RX/TX for un-interuptable signal strength, and for the mixing capabilities. I will need the mixing for the Ailerons/Elevons. I have decided to power this new "Rocket" with a MaxAmps battery that punches out a SUPREME 60C burst from a 2200mah 3S LIPO battery. OH MOMMA! Lol.. it will RIP across the open skies. Thanks MaxAmps - your gear is the best. This plane comes featured with a "sweepback wing", that adds more speed and stealth-like action. Extremely amped about this build, as it will certainly have enough power to pull out of most stalls I may throw at it. I am impressed by the extreme scale realism of the RTF model. TOO AWESOME! I almost dont want to fly it, simply not to have anything bad happen.. bahaha.. but you know I will. Currently.. during filming time.. it is -25c outside.. winter has finally caught up with <b>...</b>

RC F-14 Tomcat 3rd Flight With EDF Power Loss ER Landing.
During the flight one of the EDF motors lost power, as you can see I barely made it back to the runway for a landing, I almost lost the model, LOL! Not really sure what happened, it could be the ESC, or the electric motor. I plan on upgrading soon. Stay tuned and I hope you enjoy a little drama LOL! Thanks for viewing.

Great demonstration by an F-14 Tomcat. This video is actually superior to my other F-14 video because the weather was good for condensation so you can see the shockwave form as the plane approaches the speed of sound. As a bonus I tacked on a quick clip of the F-117 that was on static display.

Gruman F-14 Tomcat Phoenix Missile Test Six on Six Awesome Multiple Missile Launches
In this rare footage the Gruman F-14 fires six Phoenix missiles and assigns them to six individual targets. This was the primary reason the Navy chose the F-14 as a fleet defender. It turned out that only 4 drones were destroyed due to failures with the drones but the results gave the system a rating of 80%.

Banana hobby F-14.Here is an overview of the modifications and additions I have made. Special thanks to Tinkermanrc for helping with the project. Two Hoffman Magnetics Brushless motors KV: 4620 * R (ohms): 0.021 * Weight: 116 grams * Fan External Diameter: 62mm * 5 Bladed Rotor Battery: 3s-4s lipo 650 watts My set up was like 1400 to 1600 watts depending on the battery. airtronics digital mg servo with like 161 oz. torque at 4.8v Two 60 amp suppo esc's. ~No copyright infringement intended~ This is the 1/48 scale model of the F-14d Tomcat by Revell. This was a nice kit with great decals but I had problems with the cockpit assembly. I used carbon dusting to age and weather the kit also. In the video an A model is shown from one of my favorite dog fight scenes from the movie The Final Option. The music is from Link Park and Babybird I do not own this song or video.
