The nuclear powered nimitz class USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier had an active day on my visit hundreds of miles off the southern Californian coast. This footage is of daytime landings and some missed "traps". There is a 5 cables on the deck that the aircraft's hook tries to grab. Most pilots aim #3 cable.

On saturday, the F-14 Tomcat demo by VF-101 "Grim Reapers" at the 2005 NAS Oceana Air Show located in Virginia Beach, VA. Sept. 17th, 2005. This was one of the final Tomcat demonstration prior to sundays official final Tomcat demonstration. Also in this video VF-101 utilizes one of the jets from VF-32 "Swordsmen". If you don't get/like it, just move on. My god. This flyby was performed after the last carrier launch of a tomcat, off USS Theodore Roosevelt. VF-31 and VF-213, the Tomcatters and Blacklions respectively, formed up for a massive 22-ship flyby. It was the end of a glorious era for the Tomcat, and the largest single tomcat flyby in at least the past 5 years, probably more. Shot by yours truly on March 10, 2006 off the Atlantic coast with a Sony DSC-P200.
