Man City 1-0 Man United Official Highlights | The FA Cup Semi Final

Manchester City reached the FA Cup Final for the first time in 30 years with victory over derby rivals Manchester United at Wembley. Yaya Toure demonstrated power and poise to take advantage of Michael Carrick's mistake to score after 52 minutes and set up another Wembley date against either Bolton Wanderers or Stoke City in May. United controlled the first half-hour and Dimitar Berbatov - in for the suspended Wayne Rooney - missed two golden chances in the space of seconds early on. And United, who had Paul Scholes sent off late on for a wild challenge on Pablo Zabaleta, paid the price as City finally gathered momentum to end as deserved winners and sabotage Sir Alex Ferguson's hopes of repeating the historic treble-winning season of 1999. City threatened through Mario Balotelli, Joleon Lescott and Vincent Kompany before Toure made the breakthrough, with United's only serious second-half response a deflected free-kick from Nani that keeper Joe Hart touched on to the bar. It was a remarkable turnaround in fortunes and form for City and boss Roberto Mancini, who responded to an abject showing in the 3-0 defeat at Liverpool on Monday by insisting they would reach the FA Cup final and also next season's Champions League. He fulfilled the first part of his bold promise in style and now City and Mancini can focus their attentions fully on finishing ahead of Tottenham in the fight for a place in the Premier League's top four. Balotelli was involved in an angry flare-up with Rio ...

Man City 4-2 Leicester | The FA Cup 3rd Round Replay - 18/01/11

The FA Cup Third Round - Sven-Goran Eriksson's Eastlands return ended in disappointment as Manchester City edged past his Leicester side in an FA Cup third-round replay. Carlos Tevez's rifled effort put the home side ahead only for Paul Gallagher to level from the penalty spot. Two goals in 90 seconds - from Patrick Vieira and Adam Johnson - swung the game in the home side's favour, before Chris Weale saved a Tevez penalty. Lloyd Dyer gave Leicester late hope but Aleksandar Kolarov sealed the home win.

FA Cup Draw Balls-Up

The FA launched an inquiry after the FA Cup 3rd round draw on December 2nd 2007 - when viewers complained the wrong team was read out. Eagle-eyed fans claimed when ball 25 (Middlesbrough) was pulled out, the ball called was 24 (Manchester United). But did the FA score an own goal? They insist the draw was correct, and blame studio light glare for the confusion. Make your own mind up here.

Manchester City Celebrate | The FA Cup Final 2011

FATV - The Man City team celebrate their first piece of silverware in 35 years. Yaya Toure was the hero for Manchester City on the day as his second-half pile-driver won The FA Cup for the club for the first time since 1969, and their first piece of silverware in 35 years. It was the midfielder's goal against Manchester rivals United in the Semi-Final that saw them reach Wembley again 30 years after the club lost in The Final to Tottenham, and the former Barcelona man stepped up again to clinch victory with an unstoppable strike against the resilient Stoke City.

Leicester 2-2 Man City | The FA Cup 3rd Round - 09/01/11

Sunday, 9 January 2011 Leicester v Manchester City, R3, 16:00 Andy King struck the equaliser as Leicester deservedly took big-spending Manchester City to a replay after a pulsating FA Cup third-round tie. The Foxes took the lead inside a minute when new signing Sol Bamba stabbed home from inside the six-yard box. James Milner levelled with a crisp left-foot strike on 23 minutes before Carlos Tevez scored just before the break with a clever close-range finish. King pounced after keeper Joe Hart spilled a cross in the 64th minute. Sven-Goran Eriksson's Championship team produced an enterprising performance that, at times, had their Premier League opponents firmly on the back foot.

Arsenal FA Cup Semi-Final v Stoke 1970-71

Note: This video is for educational and commentary purposes only. I always consider this to be Peter Storey's FA Cup semi-final. Played against a very good Stoke team, 2 nil down at half time with the great Jimmy Greenoff failing to kill the game off and make it 3 - 1 to Stoke. Watch Gordon Banks, considered to be the best keeper in the world at the time, do a very passable impression of Jens Lehmann. Priceless. But the best has to be Peter Storey's penalty in extra time. Against a keeper of Bank's quality, this has to be one of the greatest of all time. Watch how close it passes to Banks and how he is rooted to the spot. Thanks Peter. One of the best Arsenal and England players of all time. He's just published a new book called "True Storey, My Life and Crimes as a Football Hatchet Man". There's a great review on Goonerholic (just Google Goonerholic Peter Story Book) and they have a link to Amazon to buy the book. A must for any Arsenal supporter.

Stoke 2-1 West Ham United | The FA Cup 6th Round

Stoke vs West Ham United, R6, The FA Cup 6th Round - 13/03/11 Danny Higginbotham's fierce free-kick sank West Ham and sent Stoke into their first FA Cup semi-final for 39 years as they edged a fast and furious game that was full of controversy. After Robert Huth headed the Potters in front, referee Mike Jones angered both sides with his decisions, first allowing Frederic Piquionne's equaliser to stand despite an apparent handball and then awarding Stoke a cheap penalty which Robert Green saved brilliantly. Jones also played a key part in Higginbotham's winner, awarding the Potters another free-kick for handball in the wall when Jermaine Pennant's initial effort was blocked. But once the dust settles, it would be a shame if the officials were to be the main post-match talking point because this was a full-blooded cup tie that saw plenty of endeavour by both teams. Roared on by the home fans, Stoke made a breathless start and Pennant sent over two dangerous crosses from the right in the first two minutes, with Matthew Etherington getting on the end of one of them to force a fine save from Green. The visitors were given notice of what was to come when Huth headed wide from a Rory Delap long throw but failed to heed the warning, allowing the German defender to rise unmarked to meet another Delap catapult and plant his header into the net after 12 minutes. Stoke deserved their advantage and they looked to build on their lead with Etherington continuing his busy wing-play down ...
