We stayed at the motel at the restored Station Inn in Cochrane Ontario. I removed the screen to video tape the morning train coming out of the morning fog into the station with a rebuilt Caterpillar powered EMD FP7. The B unit behind is rebuilt into a power car for the passenger cars. The power for the Kapuskasing turn is sitting on the side waiting for the passenger train to head south. This video shows the design, development and sea trials of the succesful EU Framework 7 funded project CORES - New Components for Ocean Renewable Energy Systems. This project was coordinated by the Hydraulics and Maritime Research Centre in Cork and had 13 Partners from 7 EU countries, all of whom contributed to the final sucessful outcome. Within the partners was a unique mix of Industry and Academia. Just me doodling again on an electric piano (EP) setup. This time the EP is one of my own design, it's actually three EPs layered on the JUNO-G from the Classic EPs SRX-12 module. The JUNO-G is connected to my main monitors and the rhythm is coming from my FP-7 through its built in speakers - unfortunately some FP-7 piano breaks through too I think but it's not too noticeable. The FP-7 is connected up by midi to the JUNO-G. Just fooling about, nothing special. I'm so lucky to have all this kit but its taken years of pain to acquire so please don't think I'm spoilt :(

Leaving in the morning behind the FP7 for the Orville OH train excursion in 2007. Friend of my dad has a Pullman Observation car, and as luck would have it, we were coupled backwards behind the engines for most of the trip. It gave an interesting view of what the engine is really doing. There was a GP-9 ahead of the FP7, and at one point we almost completely stalled on a grade heading into a yard on some rail wet down by the morning dew. Comically enough, they hop around and wander on the rail just like the 1.5 inch scale little brothers!

September 4, 2010 Scranton, Pennsylvania On Labor Day weekend of 2010, me, Andrew, and Kyle headed up to Railfest in Scranton. This year, display's were amazing, The steamers put on a show, and of course, this was CP 4-6-2 2317's last few days to run until the FRA mandated 1472 day inspection. We start off with a few equipment shots (many more in the next videos) before we clime on the excursion to Scranton, pulled by Reading FP7A 903 and Reading FP7A 902. 10:59 AM - The first video of the trip, just CN 2-8-2 3254 pulls up a little bit before backing up. Equipment shots of: DL C425 2453 DL M420W 2045 DL M636 3643 DL RS32 211 Refurbished Amtrak P40DC 818 on the display track DLW F3A 664 11:51 AM - CN 2-8-2 3254 shoves the yard shuttle back into the Yard, the shuttle includes the Lackawanna 889 Caboose and the PRR 105808 Boxcar. 12:15 PM - Reading FP7A 903 and FP7A 902 uncouple from the north side of the train and run around it to the other end for the run to Moscow, which we board. In this video, we see the ride to Moscow, with some horn (902 has a K5LA) and some good throttling as we roll through the mountains of northeast Pennsylvania.
