Falklands War 1982: Early BBC Documentary with Live Reporting 1 of 8

It was 1982, and the Falkland Islands, a UK colony in the south Atlantic, had been invaded by Argentina. A task force was sent to fight a short, but fierce war. It lasted 10 weeks, and ended with a British victory. Shortly after the war ended the BBC put together a documentary, telling the story of the war from start to finish. Narrated by BBC newsreader of the time Richard Baker, with reporting from Brian Hanrahan, who sailed with the troops, this is the story of how the Falklands War was won. This footage formed the basis of a series broadcast by the BBC in June 1982 called Task Force South. Some of the images show front line fighting - and the terrible consequences of war. Users are warned that there are occasionally some graphic images.

Argentina echoes claim to Falkland Islands

Argentina's president has reiterated her country's historical claim to the Falkland Islands, three decades since the war with Britain over these remote islands in the South Atlantic. Cristina Kirchner compared the claim to the islands with the Palestinian desire for statehood. While Argentina lost the war, it has never given up its sovereignty claim over what it calls the Malvinas Islands. Al Jazeera's Lucia Newman reports.

Falklands/ Malvinas; my opinion and the Brazil's position.

This video blog is my opinion about the situation in Southern Atlantic involving the quarrel between england and Argentina, once my country might get involved by one way or another, like I already have, so I chose to keep the position of peacekeeper, my apologies about my nasty comments toward Brits and to Argentinians about what I think, it is the best to do.

20th Century Battlefields: Falklands Part 1/6

25 years ago Argentina triggered the last battle on British territory when it invaded the Falkland Islands. In this episode father-and-son presenters Peter and Dan Snow fly 8000 miles to the South Atlantic to tell the story of how the British Task Force fought back to regain control. With his high-tech graphic mapcase, Peter shows the challenges faced by the British, thousands of miles from home or even friendly bases. Dan feels the force of the Sea Harrier fighter jets, so crucial to the survival of the British fleet in these icy waters. And he goes on a night-fighting training exercise under live fire to experience for himself the tactics used by the British ground troops in their fight to dislodge the Argentinians.

Abortion Speech by Calise Jontz a gr.5 Falkland Elementary Student.3gp

Missed the speech that Ranchero Elementary School boycotted on May 6th, 2011 at the Annual Zone Public Speaking Competition? What was all the fuss about? A young girl worked hard to present a speech about an important issue to her, but the host school decided that based on her topic it was too controversial for young people to hear. Well, it's wonderful! Very informative and age-appropriate. Watch it here and see for yourself.
