Company B - Fasicnated
Company B was a dance pop trio put together by Miami-based producer Ish Ledesma. Ledesma had already found pop success fronting Foxy in the '70s and Oxo in the '80s. Consisting of Lori L., Lezlee Livrano, and Susan Johnson, the trio, adorned with white wigs and clad in blue leather, first made waves with the single "Fascinated," which took clubs by storm in 1986. It crossed over to the pop charts in the early months of 1987, climbing into the Top 30. Follow-up singles "Full Circle," "Perfect Lover," and "Jam on Me" failed to equal that mainstream success, but they were club hits. All were contained on their self-titled album, which briefly charted late that summer. Livrano and Johnson left before recording a second album and were replaced by Donna Huntley and Julie Marie. A sophomore effort, Gotta Dance, elicited little response outside the club world and the remainder of their output would be repackagings of their hits.

Bio Origin : Ottawa, Canada Emjay (Marie Josée Riel) was born on December 9th 1974. Her musical history began at age 12, with a 7 year stint singing as a backup vocalist with a local Ottawa band. She devoted virtually all her spare time practising the many different choreographs, along with gruelling aerobic training to ensure she was in top shape for her live performances of non-stop singing and dancing. Even at that young age, Emjay was willing to work hard and do what it took to attain her dream; to one day becomes a 'lead singer'. The effort was well recognised; the band won 8 American Guild Awards. Still with the band in 1993, Emjay won first place as 'Pop Solo Artist' at the American Guild Awards. Emjay did background vocals on Memories, a track on Capital Sound's first album. In 1994 she recorded a solo project, resulting in her first recording contract, and the song Sound Of My Heartbeat, which charted at #7 on The Record's Dance chart. More singles followed, Fascinated rose to #5 (and was covered by a project named Microcosmica, with raps added), Flying To The Moon to #3 and, of course, her biggest success yet, In Your Arms. I am fascinated by ships, and the interface of land and sea. What distinguishes a land lubber from an old salt? Don't know. But, as the poet, John Masefield, observed, "I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by." "The Ship" was shot on April 15, 2011 on a windy day in Bay City, Michigan in the United States. A Canon t2i was used with the standard 18mm-55mm lens, using a wind resistant tripod. This is my blog about Alphabeat It is no secret that 80's pop is back in vogue today. You can find element of that genre in everything from hard rock to pop to even metal bands around the world. The enduring popularity of 80's pop is a testament to the impact that this style of music had and continues to have. However, the genre may have a new face. Their name? Alphabeat. Who is Alphabeat? An excellent question; they are a sextet pop group originally from Copenhagen, now located on the east side of London, England. They are much more than that, though. To listen to industry experts, they are the heir to the pop legacy that the 90's never answered. Alphabeat stands poised to take the world by (a happy) storm. Really, you ask? Yes, to all appearances, they will soon be crowned the kings (and one queen) of modern pop, with roots that reach back decades. What is the reason for all this hyperbole about a band? Believe it or not, some of the top music critics and most acclaimed music sources in Britain (NME, Popjustice and more) have all acclaimed them one of the most perfect pop bands in the world. I became instantly fascinated and commissioned her to make me a bolt of cloth. I asked for the brightest colors possible like a rainbow (for my daughter) and asked for permission to video her work. She worked for about a day and a half. I filmed this in the afternoon of the first day. If you look closely at the end of the video you can almost see the pride in her eyes that I'm taking such interest in her craft. Notice the child with an umbilical hernia in the background. A buddy of mine from Canada did the music. He's pretty sharp with the tunes and can crank out customized songs pretty quickly. I emailed him some sounds from my trip to Africa and he made the intro song out of them.
