This is an original song written by Mark Reed Butterfield. On the surface it appears to be about a man wanting to be rid of a woman who is destroying his life. Her name is Mary Jane (of course). It becomes clear eventually what the character in the song is really singing about. Mark sang the lead vocal, played rhythm guitar and provided the drumtrack. I played bass, the lead guitar and harmonica solos, and added some vocal harmony. Oh, and the applause... strictly sound effects LOL Mark is an amazing singer/songwriter and you can hear more of his work at www.youtube.com/markreedbutterfield Lyrics: MARIJUANA BLUES My momma says you're bad, she says you're bad for me She says you're some kind of evil, hangin' over me I gotta lose you girl, just to set my body free Don't know where I'm goin', don't know where I've been But I know that when I get there, I'll never let you in I gotta lose you girl, before you drive me to sin Chorus I ain't got a reason, don't need a clue All I know is that you're crazy too And I ain't got a future, as long as I got you I sure can't see the future, I can barely see the past Your spell has made me dizzy, but I hope that it can't last I gotta lose you girl, 'cause my life is slippin' fast Don't know if I'll see heaven, with you ridin' on me You make my mind heavy, and I got no wings that I can see I gotta lose you girl, just to set my spirit free Can't tell the world what saved me, they got no clue to what is right Can't tell no one about it ...
