Frankenstein (1910) - Full Movie

Frankenstein is a 1910 film made by Edison Studios that was written and directed by J. Searle Dawley. It was the first motion picture adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The unbilled cast included Augustus Phillips as Dr. Frankenstein, Charles Ogle as the Monster, and Mary Fuller as the doctor's fiancée. Shot in three days, it was filmed at the Edison Studios in the Bronx, New York City. Although some sources credit Thomas Edison as the producer, he in fact played no direct part in the activities of the motion picture company that bore his name. Frankenstein is in the public domain, and you can download it here for free: www.archive.org

Frankenstein (1931) Trailer

When Universal released Frankenstein in 1931 the film was a very unique piece to watch. The film has always been regarded as a black and white classic when it was nothing of the sort. When audiences originally saw the film in theatres the daylight scenes were in amber, the night in pale blue, the eerie scenes in green and the fiery climax in red. Universal also thought it was necessary to hype the film up a bit. As if the film wasnt scary enough on its own the studio found it in their best interest to park an ambulance out in front of many theatres and to keep two nurses on hand in the lobby to raise the chill factor. They even went as far as to place an actress in the audience during every showing who would, at the scariest moment in the film, scream, jump out of her seat, and run up the aisle and out of the theatre. Too bad we dont see theatrics like that anymore.

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) trailer

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein grunted to the circuit in 1994. Made by Columbia, Kenneth Branagh sought to remake Mary Shelley's clasic book Frankenstein. Unfortunately, poor casting choices (Robert Deniro as The Monster?!?) and a sub-par script sent this film into the giant holes of mediocrity. But the trailer sold it well AND kicked ass.

Frankenstein

"Your film should portray someone who is Heroic, or someone who is Villainous. You as a director must decide to tell a tale of virtue, or a story of evil." My first "long" film, and hopefully not my last! Made over the course of two months, Frankenstein was a "villain" film made for the Heroes and Villains contest at Brickfilms.com, and was voted 1st out of 19 movies. One of the most exciting things about making this movie was getting very strong reactions from a lot of different people of different ages. I was blown away by some of the positive and very kind reviews. Because of the "villainous" subject material, however, there were also negative reactions, especially at the live showing. Josh described what happened: ". . . There were audible gasps during the knife part. As the film progressed, children became visibly upset, as did their parents . . ." I'm saddened that some people didn't enjoy my film, but at the same time I'm very happy that my Lego animation was actually "scary," since it was supposed to be. I'd like to thank Josh, for running Brickfilms.com, everyone that wrote articles and motivated me with useful information on the forums and everyone who reviewed the film. This place really is unique. Turn out the lights, turn up the speakers, and enjoy!

"It's Alive!!!"

The most classic line in horror movie history. I added a thirties orchestral recording of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (as featured in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) because I could litterally hear it when I first watched that scene.

Frankenstein - The Edgar Winter Group (1972)

"Frankenstein" was a rock instrumental by The Edgar Winter Group from their album "They Only Come Out At Night". In live performances of the song, Edgar Winter further pioneered the advancement of the synthesizer as a lead instrument by becoming the first person ever to strap a keyboard instrument around his neck, giving him the on-stage mobility and audience interaction of guitar players. The song topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for a week starting in May 1973, and sold over one million copies. The song's title, coined by the band's drummer Chuck Ruff, derives from the fact that the original recording of the song was much longer than the final version, as the band would often deviate from the arrangement into less structured jams. The track required numerous edits to shorten it. The end result was pieced together from many different sections of recording tape using a razor blade and splicing tape. Winter frequently refers to the appropriateness of the name also in relation to its monster-like, lumbering beat. Winter played many of the instruments on the track, including keyboards, saxophone and timbales. As the album's only instrumental cut, the song was not initially intended to be on the release, and was only included on a whim as a last-minute addition. It was originally released as the B-side to "Hangin' Around", but the two were soon reversed by the label when disc jockeys nationwide were inundated with phone calls and realized this was the hit. Iced Earth - Frankenstein

Horror Show is an album by the American heavy metal band Iced Earth, released June 26, 2001. It is a theme album based on classic monsters and horror-movie icons, including Dracula, Frankenstein, and the ghost from Phantom of the Opera. It was the first Iced Earth album to feature drummer Richard Christy, and the only album to feature Steve DiGiorgio on bass, though he didn't tour with the band. Horror Show is usually considered Iced Earth's only straightforward power metal release, as little of the thrash metal influence from the band's earlier works is present. There was a special limited-edition 2CD set. The second CD featured the instrumental track "Transylvania" (an Iron Maiden cover) along with an interview with bandleader/rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer. There is also a single-disc version with "Transylvania", but without the interview. Jon Schaffer - Rhythm, Lead, Acoustic Guitars, Vocals, Mandolin, Keys Matt Barlow - Lead Vocals Larry Tarnowski - Guitar solos in all songs except "Ghost of Freedom" Richard Christy - Drums Steve DiGiorgio - Bass (Credited as 'Guest Musician') Yunhui Percifield - Lead Vocal in "The Phantom Opera Ghost" as "Christine", Backing Vocals Richie Wilkison - Backing Vocals Rafaela Farias - Backing Vocals Sam King - Backing Vocals Jim Morris - Backing Vocals, Keys, Guitar Solo in "Ghost of Freedom" Howard Helm - Keys (Pipe Organ) on "The Phantom Opera Ghost" Lyrics: www.darklyrics.com

Aaron Eckhart In 'I, Frankenstein' First Look

I, Frankenstein Photos - bit.ly bit.ly - Click to Subscribe! Facebook.com - Become a Fan! Twitter.com - Follow Us! Everhardt Strauss Photos - bit.ly I, Frankenstein is currently shooting in Australia and thanks to photographer Everhardt Strauss, we're getting our first look at Aaron Eckhart as Dr. Frankenstein's monstrous creation. In the pics we see Eckhart channeling his The Dark Knight character Two-Face. In the film, Eckhart plays "Adam" aka Frankenstein's monster who has survived centuries into an alternate version of the present where he finds himself in the middle of a centuries old war between immortal clans. The film will bring back classic monsters like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Invisible Man and Dracula. Eckhart has said he is taking inspiration from the original Mary Shelly book rather than the classic Universal depiction of the creature. The film is based on the Dark Horse comic book created by Kevin Grevioux, the co-creator of the Underworld franchise and is being directed by Pirates of the Caribbean co-writer Stuart Beattie. Bill Nighy will be playing the film's villain, an angel that descended with Satan. I, Frankenstein is just one of several Frankenstein themed films heading our way, but it will have the honor of being the first out of the gate with a planned February 22, 2013 release. What do you think of this first look at Aaron Eckhart as Frankenstein's monster? Will you be checking it out when it hits theaters next year? Let us know in the ...
