Tamara Drew, starring Gemma Aterton by British film director Stephen Frears will open the Haifa International film festival that is into its 26th year and will be held during Hol Hamoed Succoth between 23 - 30 September. The film is based on Posy Simmonds' well-loved graphic novel, which in turn was inspired by Thomas Hardy's Far From the Madding Crowd. The Haifa International Film Festival was inaugurated in 1983, and was the first of its kind in Israel. Throughout the week special screenings are held of 150 new films. Apart from movies screened around the clock at seven theaters, the festival features open-air screenings. Film categories include feature films, documentaries, animation, short films, retrospectives and tributes. The Board of Directors is composed of film and culture professionals and public figures. The festival is underwritten by the City of Haifa, the Ministry of Education, the Israeli Film Council, and the European Union, as well as commercial companies.

Un magnifique film tiré du célèbre roman de Choderlos De Laclos " Les liaisons dangereuses". On y suit les méfaits de deux libertins, la Marquise de Merteuil et le Vicomte de Valmont. L'histoire est simple: la Marquise de Merteuil ( Glenn Close) est fâchée d'apprendre que son ancien amant, le Comte de Bastide ( Gercourt dans le livre) va se marier à la jeune Cécile de Volanges, jeune fille à peine sortie du Couvent. Pour se venger de Bastide qui avait oser la quitter, la Marquise demande alors au Vicomte de Valmont ( John Malkovich), un libertin qui fut lui même l'amant de la Marquise, de séduire Cécile de Volanges pour la "salir" avant le mariage. Mais le Vicomte convoite une autre jeune demoiselle, la prude, fidèle et religieuse Présidente de Tourvel ( Michel Pfeiffer). Les deux libertins se lancent alors un "parie": le Vicomte devra réussir à séduire la présidente et remettre à la marquise, une preuve écrite de son succès s'il veut pouvoir passer une dernière nuit avec elle.... Le Vicomte se lance alors dans un perfide jeu de séduction. Manipulation, cruauté, hypocrisie, amour sont les mots qui définissent le mieux ce splendide film qui adapte à merveille et à sa façon, le roman de Laclos. Je voulaisse découvrir ma vidéo qui résume le film, dans celle-ci j'ai utilisé la musique Requiem for a dream qui, je trouve, colle très bien à l'atmosphère de ce film. Bon visionnage.
