Baraka 1992 trailer HQ

in english with spanish subtitles an documentary experimental film directed by Ron Fricke USA 1992 Film includes footage of various landscapes, churches, ruins, religious ceremonies, and cities thrumming with life, filmed using time-lapse photography in order to capture the great pulse of humanity as it flocks and swarms in daily activity. The film also features a number of long tracking shots through various settings, including one through former concentration camps at Auschwitz (in Nazi-occupied Poland) and Tuol Sleng (in Cambodia) turned into museums honoring their victims: over photos of the people involved, past skulls stacked in a room, to a spread of bones. In addition to making comparisons between natural and technological phenomena, Baraka searches for a universal cultural perspective: for instance, following a shot of an elaborate tattoo on a bathing Japanese yakuza mobster with one of Native Australian tribal paint. The movie was filmed at 152 locations of 24 countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Nepal, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States. It contains no dialogue. Instead of a story or plot, the film uses themes to present new perspectives and evoke emotion purely through cinema. The film was the first in over twenty years to be photographed in the 70mm Todd-AO format. The title Baraka is a word that means ...

Judy Garland fans: Biographer John Fricke has a real treat for you! (Interview)

There have been, of course, entire bookshelves of research and publications devoted to the magic of Garland and it could be argued that what the world didn't need was another coffee table book of pictures and facts about the actress who brought Dorothy Gale to life in 1939. But biographer John Fricke -- who also wrote The Wizard of Oz: An Illustrated Companion to the Timeless Movie Classic — knows his subject better than most and found a fresh way to present his case for another print celebration of her life and art. Judy: A Legendary Film Career breaks down the movies of the actress and singer into four parts of her life. It then entertains the reader with synopses, cast lists, behind-the-scenes credits, musical numbers when appropriate and photos. Lots and lots of great photos. If you love Judy Garland, you'll love this book. What is Mr. Media® Interviews? SIEGMAR FRICKE | Neuromechanik

pharmakustik visual-symbiosis 2007; official videoclip "Neuromechanik" for the track from the netlabel-album "Metaprogramming" on www.stadtgruenlabel.net Syncopated rhythmo-texture, metasequencing and clinical ambiences; "Digital minimalism is the keyword here, with titles that hint at some kind of man-machine hybridization, in the most clinical sense. The tracks on Metaprogramming bear similarities with electronic endeavours such as Monolake's, with groups of repetitive, metallic rhythmic structures slowly evolving against an underlying harmonic tapestry. What makes Fricke's music interesting and enjoyable is the tension it manages to build and maintain between opposites (coldness/warmth; darkness/light; living/dead; organic/mechanic...)"
