The 80 min outdoor performance was inspired by the Henrik Ibsen play "Peer Gynt" and was an ecosophical interpretation of it. The hard rock quality of Peer was confronted with the slow and soft patience of the antagonist Solveig. Under the slogan "the rock may split the water surface in the moment, but with help of time water shapes the rock as it wants" Hansegård interpreted Peer Gynt in a new and innovative way for dance. The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporations dance critic writes: "FRIKARs innovative choreographer Hallgrim Hansegård, together with composer Andreas Ljones managed to create a spectacular performance that manages to grab its audience. The message of dance is often fulfilled only on the theoretical plane and seems abstract in front of a spectator. That´s not the case here. In "TidarÅ" the 20 dancers don`t dance about oil funds, or climate crisis, this is rather the thoughts that one audience can make themselves as the performance matures within. But the theme which is about the time and the contrasts between the characters of Peer and Solveig are clear and works well in the performance. The music is composed by Lasse Thoresen. The Norwegian Ragnhild Hemsing, based in Vienna, is one of Europes up and coming violin stars. Here she presents a hole new Norwegian approach to classical / contemporary music in which she use both the classical technique and her deep background in Norwegian folk music on Hardanger fiddle. Hemsing normally perform as a soloist with orchestras, and this is her first dance production. Hallgrim Hansegård is the choreographer of FRIKAR dance company which he established in 2005. He choreographed the winner act of Eurovision Song Contest 2009 where he and FRIKAR danced with Alexander Rybak. Hansegård has his background in the Norwegian halling dance and has for YR made a research among 80-90 years old dancers with the aim of a revival for lost dance moves. "8" is the bravest project by FRIKAR dance company until now. For 2 months choreographer Hallgrim Hansegård studied with kung fu master Chen Shiyu in the Wu Dang Mountains of China - just to get under cover. The remaining 2 months he has choreographed the monks of Returning Dragon Temple without use of interpreter. He invited 3 of his FRIKAR dancers to make part of his human research. Some clips from a concert I went to on friday 1st of May 2009 in Hamar (Norway). This was his last concert before he went to Moscow to prepare for the big finale. The songs he preformed are from his new album which will be released in the end of May. They're awesome! I am definately gonna buy it! CHECK OUT THE LAST SONG AT 06:40 :) FAIRYTALE :) Listen to the audience - we all sang with him. Fuuuun :D Alexander Rybak ROCKS!!! :) I hope he wins the Eurovision song contest in Moscow :D TRANSLATION of what he's saying at 1:36 : First he tells the audience to come down to the floor (from all the seats behind) because they're gonna play some real "folk music" (i don't know what it's called in english). Then he tells us to watch the dancing carefully and also try to imitate. "When I can do it, you can too!" :) He says this dance will be very popular this summer (because this concert is the same they're gonna do at their summer tour) and we can be the first ones to learn it :) At the end he says what the song is called. (the sound isn't that good, cause I just had a digital camera. But it's better than nothing though :D )

This special opening show was the last collaboration among FRIKAR dance company and Alexander Rybak after touring more than 20 countries with a 75 min show together.
