Samsung Galaxy Note Review (AT&T)

AT&T Samsug Galaxy Note Review Call it what you will: phablet, tablone, taphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note has finally reached US shores, imposing its 5.3-inch display on the wimpy screens of every other smartphone out there. Samsung Galaxy Note: 1 Month Later (Review)

Samsung Galaxy Note: 1 Month Later (Review) My initial impression of the Galaxy Note when it was announced was that it was laughably big. The phone/tablet hybrid was introduced as big smartphone displays were becoming the norm. But having gotten used to devices in the 4-inch range, I just couldn't fathom using the Note's oversized 5.3-inch screen as my daily driver. How I was wrong. After nearly a month of use, every other smartphone experience literally pales in comparison. Even the HTC Titan, which I've sung the praises of before, takes some getting used to because the screen is so much smaller. Browsing, messaging, watching video and using apps is that much better on the Galaxy Note because there's so much screen real estate. And my biggest apprehension, the portability, is an absolute non-factor. It's easy to use, talk on and isn't an issue in my pocket. Samsung Galaxy Note vs. Apple iPhone 4S Dogfight Part 1

Who needs an iPhone 5 when this could be the most epic dogfight battle of 2012 (at least, so far)? Aaron pits the Samsung Galaxy Note against the Apple iPhone 4S. The Galaxy Note is available now on AT&T and packs a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 5.3-inch Super AMOLED HD (1280x800 pixels) display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, a front-facing shooter, 2500 mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity, and Android 2.3.6 with TouchWiz 4.0. The iPhone 4S offers an Apple A5 dual-core CPU, 3.5-inch Retina display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording, a front-facing camera for FaceTime, 1420 mAh battery, and iOS 5 in a nice glass and metal form factor. Galaxy Note Showdown: AT&T Vs Unlocked

Galaxy Note Showdown: AT&T Vs Unlocked The Samsung Galaxy Note isn't for everyone. For the average consumer, the device's 5.3-inch screen is a bit overkill, especially for those used to the 3.5-4-inch range. For me, however, the Note has become one of the best smartphone experiences I've ever had . During my day-to-day, I'm constantly looking at messages, following feeds and sending out emails, so the extra screen real estate, not to mention the stellar battery, is incredibly helpful for productivity. Even nearly two months later I'm still enamored with the gargantuan device, and I've played with a lot in between. Samsung Galaxy Note Review

Samsung Galaxy Note Review When the Galaxy Note was introduced last September, it was difficult to imagine ever using such a large phone. With a 5.3″ display, the device doesn't exactly fly under the radar, especially out in public. Out of all the phones I've tested, the Note easily attracted the most attention and, after folks saw it in action, continually received praise. People were often curious about who made it, and whether or not the device's sheer size dampened the experience. My answers? Samsung, and not at all. The Note fits in a niche between big phones and small tablets, carving out a new category all its own. Having used the HTC Titan as my daily driver, I thought I had reached my ideal screen size at 4.7″. Now that I've developed a taste for the Note's 5.3″ display, I'm hooked. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. Widgets, pictures, and videos pop, and because the display is so physically large and high-res, there's plenty of real estate for a lot of content. I found myself preferring the Note for tasks I would have normally used a tablet for (eg browsing the web, checking fantasy scores, looking at photos). Samsung GALAXY Note LTE Review

PhoneArena reviews the Samsung GALAXY Note LTE. Taking a trip back to memory lane, it was hard to imagine smartphones packing displays anything larger than 3.5-inches a few years ago, but as reality has proven time after time, it seems that we have an insatiable desire to keep moving forward. In fact, our jaws all dropped in unison when the HTC HD2 came romping onto the scene flaunting a then larger than life 4.3" display. Soon afterwards, we've all come together as a society to regard devices with these sized displays to be the norm. Well, the Samsung Galaxy Note came to fruition back last fall pushing the limits of how big is too big for today's modern smartphone. The insanely large device is finally making its way to AT&T's lineup with 4G LTE connectivity in tow ... For more details, check out our web site: www.phonearena.com

Samsung Galaxy Note Challenge: Day 14

I'm almost at the halfway mark with the Samsung Galaxy Note, and I have a confession. Originally, I said I would keep the Galaxy Note on my personal line for 30 days. I have accounts with all four carriers, and have nine personal lines of service. So I threw the Note on another personal line, and reactivated my iPhone 4S on my main personal line. Here's the kicker. After a few hours of use, I found myself missing the Galaxy Note. I'm still not sure what happened or if I'll keep a phone this large after 30 days, but I switched back and have been pleased with the experience since. Otherwise, 4G LTE connectivity is a welcome feature on the AT&T version, though I find myself missing the physical home button on the international build. Battery life has remained decent, despite the expected battery drain that comes from LTE connectivity. It's noticeable, but I'm still able to make it through a full day with plenty of juice to spare. Samsung Galaxy Note Challenge: The Aftermath Part 1

Conventionally speaking, the 30-day Samsung Galaxy Note Challenge should be over. But nine days after abandoning the device, I find myself missing many of the features found on the tabletphone. I switched from the Samsung Galaxy Note to the Apple iPhone 4S as a primary device after the challenge ended, but two days in, I realized I needed a larger display. So I migrated yet again to the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. It seemed like the better choice; a much more manageable size, but offered up some of the Note's best features, like 4G LTE connectivity, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, and TouchWiz 4.0 (which has always been one of my favorite Android skins). But darn, that high-resolution display kept calling my name - and believe me, after using the Note for 30 days, the display difference between it and the Skyrocket is noticeable. During the challenge, I became accustomed to using the S Pen feature on a daily basis, be it for jotting down notes during calls or sending pictures to family and friends. I initially dismissed it as a niche feature, but found myself using it more and more throughout my time with the phone. By my count, I've used the S Pen on over 100 different things - pictures, notes, and the like. Makes it less of a niche and more of a necessity, based on my use. Will I stick with the Skyrocket until the next challenge series, or will I go back to the Samsung Galaxy Note? Find out in part two! Samsung Galaxy Note Unboxing & 1st Look

Unboxing the White Samsung Galaxy Note. Thanks to Negri Electronics: www.negrielectronics.com When the Samsung Galaxy Note was announced a few months back, many wondered whether it was a phone, tablet or something we'd haven't even heard of. At 5.3-inches of screen, the device absolutely towers over smartphones currently on the market. We got a brief hands-on in September and came away impressed despite its massive size. It's a phone, just to clear the air. And it's huge. In a world where devices are only getting bigger, the Galaxy Note jumps past the 4-inch range altogether and lands at a massive 5.3-inches. Why move up in increments when you can up the ante in one swing? What we previously considered big -- Galaxy Nexus, HTC Rezound, Droid Razr -- is now slight and tiny. What we want to know will the size hinder or improve the experience? And is the Galaxy Note daily driver material?
