Donkey Kong (Game & Watch)

I play through both Game A and B on this classic Game & Watch video game obviously based on the Donkey Kong Arcade game (yes, this little guy is supposed to be Mario). It's a little bit different due to the restrictions of the Game & Watch system, but they did a fine adaptation. Mario must reach the top of the structure, activate a lever which will put a crane in his reach. Then he must jump for the crane and demolish little by little the structure on which Donkey Kong is standing in order to rescue Pauline (a little bit like the last level of the Arcade). Game B is more difficult and there's a beam near the middle of the screen from time to time, preventing you from accessing the top at intervals. For those of you who don't know Game & Watch systems, these are the predecessors to the Game Boy and DS in some way (some games are dual screen like this one). Featuring very simple and addictive gameplay, they're not complex video games. There is a basic goal that you will always need to repeat until you die hoping to achieve the highest score. The games work on an LCD display, but unlike the Game Boy's LCD display, the limited possible patterns are already programmed, that's why there are no smooth movements and the objects always seem to go to a series of predefined locations. A lot of those games star the generic character now known as Mr. Game & Watch, featured in the Super Smash Bros. series.
