From Downturn to Discovery: Cambodia's Garment Industry in Crisis 2009 In early 2009, an ILO-commissioned rapid assessment in Cambodia identified the garment sector as the most vulnerable to the impacts of the global economic downturn. To understand the financial and human impact of the global economic downturn on the garment sector, specifically on workers, the ILO and UNDP are collaborated with the Cambodia Institute of Development Study (CIDS) on a comprehensive six-month tracking survey of 2000 workers. This documentary focuses on the result of the survey and the lessons learned. It was commissioned by ILO and UNDP and produced by Meta Art Cambodia.

In this sewing video tutorial I briefly cover what a serger is and how a serger works. A serger is used to professionally finish the inside seams of garments and other sewing crafts. Since sergers can be pricey and most beginners only have a sewing machine, I also show you how you can also finish your garments and other sewing projects without having to buy a serger. The technique I show in this video is called a french seam and can be done with any standard home sewing machine. The french seam is a great solution when you need to finish any seam or especially when you are working with a fabric that tends to fray a lot.
