The massive keyboards, the big vocals, great chorus and tasty axework are on the same style of bands like SHY, Treat, Zeno, Prophet, FM (UK), Skagarack, Only Child, Giant, Blue Tears, Tarzen (Madrid record)... etc. I'm think that if you like any these bands, you will like Garrison. New Orleans DA Jim Garrison began an investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy in the fall of 1966, after receiving several tips from Jack Martin that a man named David Ferrie may have been involved in the assassination. The end result of Garrison's investigation was the arrest and trial of New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw. Garrison's key witness against Clay Shaw was Perry Russo, a twenty-five year old insurance salesman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During the trial, Russo testified that he had attended an "assassination party" at David Ferrie's apartment, where Shaw, Ferrie, and Lee Harvey Oswald had discussed killing President Kennedy. Russos version of events has been questioned by some historians and researchers, such as Patricia Lambert, once it became known that part of his testimony was induced by hypnotism, and by the drug Sodium Pentothal (sometimes called "truth serum"). Indeed, the early version of Russo's testimony, as told in the DA memo, before he was subjected to Sodium Pentothal and hypnosis, fails to mention an "assassination party" and says that Russo met Clay Shaw on two occasions, neither of which occurred at the "party." However in Jim Garrison's book On the Trail of the Assassins, he says Russo had already told of the party at David Ferrie's before any "truth serum" was admitted. The jury didn't see enough evidence to convict Shaw. A verdict of not guilty was given.

One of the most crucial scenes of Oliver Stone's JFK occurs when a mystery man portrayed by Donald Sutherland steps out of the shadows to speak to New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison (Kevin Costner). "Something about his manner speaks of authority, knowledge, and above all, old-fashioned honesty. "Everything I'm going to tell you is classified top secret," he tells Garrison, and gives the DA what the script calls a "significant look." And then he proceeds to fill Jim Garrison in on the truth behind the conspiracy that killed John F. Kennedy. There is only one small problem: the mystery man "X" never existed; Jim Garrison never had any such informant, and the story "X" tells is nothing more than a combination of speculation and outright fiction. Like all good fiction, however, Oliver Stone's mystery man is inspired, however distantly, by real life. The real-life model for the character portrayed by Donald Sutherland. As the documented JFK screenplay tells us, "'X' is loosely based on Col. L. Fletcher Prouty USAF (Ret.) who served as Chief of Special Operations with the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the Kennedy years. While the authors met with Prouty, Jim Garrison did not meet him until several years after the Clay Shaw trial." There is no doubt that Prouty's credentials are in order, but when Oliver Stone says that his mystery man is "loosely based" on Prouty, what exactly does he mean? Perhaps Stone is referring to the fact that Col. L. Fletcher Prouty's position <b>...</b>
