Easier way of getting Gengar before Brock
It seems like a lot of people are having trouble to get that Pidgeotto to appear so they can trigger Gengar. I remembered a certain other way to getting a Gengar but couldn't get it eventhough I was sure I was doing it right. Just now, I figured out how to do it again. So: 1) You HAVE to defeat the first trainer in Viridian Forest with the two Caterpies, otherwise you'll get to battle him at the end of the glitch; 2) Buy an Escape Rope, Potion and enough Poké Balls to catch that Gengar; 3) Heal at the Pewter Pokémon Center; 4) Walk back to the middle trainer where we're gonna glitch off from; 5) Save so you can redo if you fail; 6) Walk towards the trainer and press Start immediately, then select the Escape Rope; 7) Go the Brock's Gym and start a battle agains the first trainer, BUT do not walk next to him, the game will freeze if you do; 8) Use Growl SIX times on the Diglett. Diglett has high Speed so he will crit you often, so make use of that Potion to get your heatlh back. And reset if you die before you are able to get all six Growls off; 9) Walk back to the forest and voila, level 1 Gengar. Thundershock it to get it to low health and start chugging those Poké Balls; 10) Now, put your Gengar as the first Pokémon and have a wild battle. Anything will do, just make sure it doesn't get more then 55 exp in one go. 11) yay, level 100 Gengar now. Enjoy raping the game. REMEMBER, USE GROWL SIX TIMES. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!
