Re-enactment of Mohandas Ghandi's death
We did this as part of our project for our AP World History class. We thought it was pretty cool so we put it up here. Ghandi was killed in 1947 by Nathuram Godse. He was shot 3 times and said "He Ram" as he died, which roughly translates to "Oh! God". So watch closely and you will see that we are historically accurate! Just please ignore the fact that in the vid Ghandi says "we will fight for India", because he did not believe in fighting, and therefore most likely never said that in his lifetime. Ghandi is played by Reshmie Punwasi and Godse is played by Gaby Placido. Sorry for the crappy quality, peoples!

Mahatma Gandhi's historic Dandi march
Mahatma Gandhi challenged the British imposistion of tax for salt in India. The 61 year old Gandhi, along with 78 followers marched from Sabarmati ashram to Dandi beach, covering a distance of 240 miles in 23 days. They reached Dandi on 5th April 1930. With a handful of salt, he sent shockwaves through the British monopoly and showed the finest example of non-violent revolution.

Gujurat India - Temples and Ghandi's Birthplace (Porbander)
David Mehi's Travel Videos On the way to and from the GIR National Forest in Gujurat, we stopped at several temples and Ghandi's birthplace. In all, we visited Dwarka Island, Somnath, Nageshwar, Sun Temple and Ashram. On the way back from Dwarka Island, we rented a whole boat just for ourselves for 100 rupees. The boat stalled halfway through the journey, but we were rescued by another boat. Porbander was a very interesting city and we visited the house that Ghandi was born in.
