One of Pandit Pannalal Ghosh significant contributions was that he gave the Bansuri an independent identity among the acknowledged traditional instruments like the Been, Sitar, Sarod and Sarangi. In his performances, he essentially rendered the Khayal Gayaki in its fullness. He played compositions set to such Talas as Jhoomra and Tilwada, which today is almost unheard of, by present day flautists. He then proceeded into Madhyalaya structures and finally the Tarana style, which afforded several elements of Tatkari including Jhala techniques, normally played on plucked instruments like Sitar and Sarod. (On Tabla Sangat is by his younger Brother Pandit Nikhel Ghosh also a great Music Director)

Plz dont compare it with Original Version of Mala Begum (cuz to me its better than hers..in terms of delivery of words especially consider how she completes a word..doesnt throw it abruptly but with care not to damage it..also Afshan Ahmed doesnt shriek and keep in mind that she wasnt as experienced as Mala Begum when she sang it. Her three-day stay in Kolkata in her dead son's apartment laden with memories and her interaction with his office colleagues makes her realise that the ownership of her son's belongings, tangible or otherwise, which she claimed to be exclusively hers, is actually ubiquitous, distribution among all his friends and acquientances - so much so that it can't be packed and moved away. She also realises that she had been inhabiting their hearts and thoughts much before destiny brought them together. Hirer Angti is a Bengali Movie directed by Rituparno Ghosh, starring Ayan Banerjee & Gyanesh Mukherjee. Based on Shishirshendu Majumdar's novel by the same name, Hirer Angti is national Award winning director Rituporno Ghosh's debut movie. It is a story of Ratanlal Bandhopadhyaya and his family who are soaked in the euphoria of the impending Durga Pooja celebrations. But their celebration is stopped short on the arrival of an unknown visitor Gandhava Kumar. It turns out that his grandfather, notorious dacoit king Ram Dulal had left a sack full of gold coins with Ratanlal when chased by villagers and told him that one day his grandson would come to claim it. He will carry a diamond ring as his identification proof and would utter the syllable "Ram Dulal's Grandson". Two of Ram Dulal's follower s comes to meet Ratanlal on the eve of Mahalaya to enquire about the grandson. Gandharva Kumar shows all the proof and Ratanlal gives him the gold coins. However, things aren't as easy as it seems. One of the followers has hatched a plan to get the gold coins and had sent a theatre person to the Bandhopadhyay household disguised as Gandharva Kumar. Eventually they get caught and peace is restored in the family.

The third part of the story is about a widow who sees worse days after her father marries their maid and how a series of circumstances ends her up in a brothel. "Gaadi bula rahi hai" deals with the slice of life situations associated with rail travel. The main protagonists are the passengers of a certain S2 bogie. Mr Randhawa (Ranjit), his wife (Amita Nangia) and his grandchildren are travelling in the S2 bogie of Paschim express. Mr.Ghosh (Rakesh Bedi) along with his wife and his daughter Mishty (Charu Asopa) happens to share one berth of this coach S2 with Mr Randhawa. The story deals with how people from varied cultures, walks of life come together for a short span during their rail journey and the series of hilarious situations occur when these people share a common space. Mr. Ghosh's daughter Mishty (Charu Asopa) wants to marry Abhishek (her love of 6 months) a non-Bengali against her father's wishes. Mishty has plans to runaway during the night time as everybody sleeps. Another couple Sonu and Sweetie (Varun Badola & Shweta Kwatra) are always fighting with each other and as they enter S2 coach of this train, Mr Randhawa and Mr Ghosh with their wives help them see life through a different viewpoint. Gaadi bula Rahi Hai is a sweet memory of all the train journeys that everyone has taken and brings a smile on the face every time the characters come to terms with the simple solutions to their troubles.
