This is a redo of the lipgloss video I made last year. The first version had poor explanation. I was not happy with the older video so I redid it. This trick will show you how to get every last drop of your lipgloss. Every gloss lover should know this trick. People are asking about bacteria, but I've been doing this for years and never saw a problem with it. It's like leaving your lipgloss in the hot car. Make sure the water is not too hot, or else it will warp your lipgloss tubes. If you want to use it for mascara, I would not recommend it (just buy a new tube), but if you must, add a few drops of olive oil in the mascara to get the texture smooth and not so dry again. This also works for Urban Decay Potion Primer. Just put it all in a little container like I did to that lipgloss. This will also work on nail polish, just make sure to add a few drops of nail polish thinner! Remember, only remove the rubber stopper and dump the lipgloss in a container when your wand cannot reach the leftover gloss. That way you can use every last drop of your lipgloss. I have noticed recently that a problem is occuring when using oil based gloss paints , just weeks after applying the paint it is yellowing very fast! I must point out that i am a proffesional decorator and have been for over thirty years. The problem is that new 2010 compliant paints have low solvent content, the finish appears to be fine initially but "yellows or browns" very quickly! Paint manufacturers are commited to reduce the solvent content of all oil based paints this is a not optional it is a law. Water based gloss paints are the answer but the finish leaves a lot to be desired and it is not as durable , chip and scratch resistant as its oil based predecessor. but we have to get used to it and has its advantage though, being low odour and fast drying. Old fashioned gloss used to be eye wateringly smelly and take hours to dry. Water based or acrylic gloss requires a new application technique. BRUSHES. WELL THE BEST QUALITY YOU CAN AFFORD HELPS! pure bristle or synthetic? the jury is out. I am trying both at the moment and i am slowly learning a few new techniques. I find that a pure bristle brush allows me to load more paint which is a pre requisite when using acrylic gloss, you really do have to lather it on and dont be afraid that it will run! the more you apply the better the finish. I've never been a massive fan of lip gloss as i think its one of the most over-used products. Over application can actual make you look like you're drooling :( not nice. When working with one on one clients or weddings, i always use either a shimmering orange, shimmering gold/yellow or a shimmering light blue/green eyeshadow (any eyeshadow will do). I line the lips (a must) then i apply the shadow to the bottom lip and upper lip. I apply lipstick. I blot. I repeat. This gives the lips complete 3D dimension with the impression of gloss without the stickiness, plus it helps set the lipstick. The result is always subtle but amazing. I love it. And i hope you love it too.
