I'll admit I'm not the best at making these goblets but I give it a go anyway. You need really soft clay and patience. This is about the limit to the thickness of the goblet stem as any thicker and it may explode in the kiln. I do trim the stem up once dry to make it a little narrower and give it a sharper profile. Oh and they do tend to go a bit wonky when you throw them but this can be easily straightened up once a bit dryer.
