Arsenal FC want Esteban Granero from Real Madrid CF in £7m deal - report Arsenal will reportedly try to complete a £7million deal for Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero in January. The 24-year-old is a target for a number of clubs after failing to establish himself as a regular at Real under Jose Mourinho. Granero recently insisted he did not want to leave the Bernabeu, but he is set to be offloaded by the Special One. Reports in recent days have suggested that Malaga are preparing to launch a bid for Spaniard and they were seen as favourites to secure his signature. But according to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal have already held talks with Los Blancos and are trying to agree a deal. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen on signing Granero in the New Year, but according to Saturday's report, the Spanish giants may want to wait until the end of the season before offloading him. Granero, who was a product of Real's youth academy, earlier this month insisted: "I'm at Real Madrid, which is my home and where I want to be.
