This is a video how to disassemble this laptop and repaste its GPU. -Remove the main access pannel -Remove the blue ray drive screw -Remove the drive -Remove the 2 screws in the blue ray drive bay -Remove every screw under the laptop (the big screw holes) -Remove the 2 hard drives -Remove the screw in each hard drive bay -Remove the 2 screws near the RAM and the screw near the wireless -Remove the small top cover -Remove the 4 screws at each corners -Gently remove the monitor -Remove the keyboard by pressing on each tab and peel it off without bending it (it's pretty hard, take your time) -Remove the 2 keyboard cables -Remove the 4 screws -Remove the 2 ribbon cables -Remove the speaker cable BE CAREFUL, it's easy to rip off (you must loose the plug by using a small screwdriver, do NOT pull the cable without loosing it before) -Remove the cover -Remove all the cables (I don't think we need to unplug them all, but I did) -Remove 3 screws from the mother board (2 at right and one up between 2 cables, there is a small "S" near each screws) -Remove the 3 screws from each fan -Remove your motherboard -Remove the heatsink with the correct screw order -CLEAN your GPU and heatsink with alcohol -Apply a small thermal compound ball -Replace the heatsink with the correct order again That's pretty much it, I don't think I forgot anything. In this video I am giving an example how the so called micro-stuttering („Mikroruckeln") is impacting the perceived smoothness on a multi-GPU system. I am showing this at 30ish fps for illustration purposes but it occurs at every fps level, impacting the smoothness of the render output regardless of how high benchmarks showing the fps to be. Slow-Motion capturing of actual monitor ouput was done on a Casio Exilim EX-F1 in 512x384 pixels, 300 fps. So with a 10:1 higher capture rate, the non-existent synchronisation between camera an monitor should not play a decisive role.

In this video I am showing you guys how to apply thermal paste into a laptop processor and GPU using Arctic Silver 5 (Dell Inspiron 1545) (Intel Dual T4400 @ 2.2 GHz and Intel GMA 4500MHD). Most laptop processors are different from desktop processors because they do not have an Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS), so you will have to cover the whole CPU and/or GPU instead of using the "dot" method or "grain of rice" method. www.pcper.com Last week we were in Dallas, Texas covering Quakecon 2011 as well as hosting our very own PC Perspective Hardware Workshop. While we had over 1100 attendees at the event and had a blast judging the case mod contest, one of the highlights of the event is always getting to sit down with John Carmack and pick his brain about topics of interest. We got about 30 minutes of John's time over the weekend and pestered him with questions about the GPU hardware race, how Intel's intergrated graphics (and AMD Fusion) fit in the future of PCs, the continuing debate about ray tracing, rasterization, voxels and infinite detail engines, key technologies for PC gamers like multi-display engines and a lot more! One of our most read articles of all time was our previous interview with Carmack that focused a lot more on the ray tracing and rasterization debate. If you never read that, much of it is still very relevant today and is worth reading over. This year though John has come full circle on several things including ray tracing, GPGPU workloads and even the advantages that console hardware has over PC gaming hardware.

This thing is huge. It's funny because in my video I actually say "unfortunately I don't have a video card to install this thing on", but later that day I got a Radeon 5870 in the mail, so I'll be doing a follow up video to show it while it's installed on a video card.

A graphics card overclocking tutorial using MSI Afterburner and MSI Kombuster. I try to keep it as simple as I can, but once you start increasing core voltage on your graphics card, there is no real rules that you can stick to. The only thing you can do is watch your temperatures, keep increasing your voltage and frequency and watch for signs of instability. You can get a massive performance increase out of overclocking your graphics card, mainly with newer graphics cards. I take no responsibility for damaged hardware caused by overclocking. From here you add stuff if you want) You cant just go out and buy whatever though. You must make sure your parts are all compatible with each other. Make sure: 1. Motherboard fits in your case 2. CPU Fits in motherboard (Socket Type...EX: My CPU is an Intel Core i7 930, LGA 1366 Socket) 3. Custom Water Cooler Fits on Motherboard, not in the way of the RAM 4. RAM is compatible with motherboard and CPU (if you want more than 4GB of RAM, you need 64 bit Operating System) 5. There is a slot for your GPU, and that your GPU will fit in your case 6.
