Short film based on the hit song by Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen. The words of the Sunscreen Song are taken from a column that appeared in the Chicago Tribune on June 1, 1997 entitled "ADVICE, LIKE YOUTH, PROBABLY JUST WASTED ON THE YOUNG" by staff writer Mary Schmich. Sometime around Thursday, July 31, 1997, Mary's article found it's way onto the internet in the form of an email hoax, claiming to be the 1997 commencement address of Kurt Vonnegut to MIT grads. The real address that year was actually delivered by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on June 5. You can find it posted on MIT's website. A year later, the email re-circulated claiming to be Kurt's commencement address to the Class of 1998! The email caught the attention of Australian film director Baz Luhrmann, who is best known for two films — "Strictly Ballroom," about competitive dancing, and a 1996 remake of "Romeo and Juliet," starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. Luhrmann eventually tracked the source of the speech to Schmich, and contacted Chicago Tribune management to buy the rights to the words to turn it into a song. He took Quindon Tarver's "Everybody's Free (to Feel Good)" song, remixed it, and hired Sydney actor Lee Perry to read Schmich's "speech". The end result became the seven-minute long "Sunscreen Song". She gained popularity after performing in the fifth season of America's Got Talent, coming in second place. Evancho sings in the classical crossover style of singers such as Sarah Brightman and Charlotte Church. She plays the violin and piano, and sings opera. Jackie was accepted as a contestant on the fifth season of the America's Got Talent TV show by placing first in a YouTube competition sponsored by the television show. Leslie Uggams (born in 1943 in New York City) is an African-American actress and singer, best known for her Tony Award-winning work in "Hallelujah, Baby!" Uggams first started in show business as a child in 1950, playing the niece of Ethel Waters on the television series "Beulah". She was a regular on "Sing Along with Mitch", starring record producer/conductor Mitch Miller. Since then, she has had a variety show added to her list of credits (The Leslie Uggams Show) as well as one of the lead roles in "Roots", as Kizzy. Uggams also starred in the 1975 film "Poor Pretty Eddy". During the 1980's Uggams appeared in "Blues in the Night", "Jerry's Girls", and replaced Patti LuPone as Reno Sweeney in the Lincoln Center revival of Cole Porter's musical "Anything Goes". This is KT Tunstall covering the Bob Dylan tune "Tangled Up In Blue" on "Later With Jools Holland". It takes a great singer to really do justice to Dylan, yet KT goes well beyond that and makes this her own. She's just that good live. I work nights in a television studio and used to come home in the morning to find absolutely nothing interesting to watch on television. The last thing I wanted to see was more commercials. I taped some of the morning before the surgery to show her and was already planning to tape afterwards. He had just had a tooth removed due to Hyperdontia or extra tooth. This was taken in the parking lot of the dentist office. He was so out of it. The staff was even laughing. This lasted for a few hours and he was fine. He even laughed at the video that night. He is very smart and always has something interesting to say about many different issues. His philosophical reaction to the medication didnt really suprise us. David is a very good kid and I am blessed to have he and his brother William as sons. This has been a great experience for our family. Thanks for watching.
