Grommash Hellscream was leader of the Warsong clan of Orcs throughout the entirety of the First and Second wars, and quite a bit of the third. An Orc Chieftain of legend, he was the uncontested leader of the Warsong Clan, said to have usurped the role from the previous Warchief. Grom was the first of the Orcs to fall for the lure of demonic power offered by Mannoroth. He just happened to also be the first to accept the concept of murdering the Draenei. He and his clan were luckily spared the defeat of the Second War thanks to some manipulation by Gul'Dan. Afterwards, Grom and his Warsong clan were used to great effectiveness in the aftermath of the Second War, performing hit and run raids on human outposts in search of magical artifacts. After the destruction of the Dark Portal, the Warsong Clan was stuck in Azeroth, they were forced to scratch out a living on the outskirts of human civilization for nearly 15 years. Finally one day a young headstrong Orc named Thrall found Grom, and impressed by Thrall's , strength, courage, and mercy, he taught Thrall all he could of Orc battle strategy and society. Eventually, the humans looking for Thrall came too close, and he was forced to separate from Grom, taking his necklace as a sign of their friendship. After some time came the Third War, and with it Grom's destiny. After a rough trip across the Great Sea, the Warsong Clan reunited with Thrall's New Horde. Poland's Operational Maneuver Reconnaissance Group (GROM) (also referred to as Thunderbolt) is the nation's elite Special Forces (SF) unit. Created 10 years ago to combat terrorist threats, the GROM is Poland's equivalent to the US Delta Force and the British Special Air Service (SAS). GROM personnel undergo rigorous training and have gained international recognition through their participation in several multinational operations. The Polish GROM Almost a decade ago, Polish intelligence sources notified the government that the country faced threats from terrorist organizations such as the Hezbollah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine—General Command. These threats were prompted by Poland's role in the secret mass migration of Jews from the former Soviet Union to Israel. In response, former Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki issued a top secret directive creating a new Special Operations unit, and in 1990 the GROM was established with assistance from US and British specialists. Subordinated directly to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the GROM became the first Polish military unit to cooperate with the US Army. It was not until 1994 that Poland disclosed the fact that such a unit existed in the country. In January 1999, the GROM was transformed into a special military formation to comply with NATO standards. 1940 Sinking of the Polish Destroyer 'Grom'
May 20, 1940. British Movietone News. On 30 August 1939, the Polish destroyers Burza, Błyskawica and Grom were ordered to head for Great Britain, from where they were to operate as convoy escorts. On 1 September 1939, the Polish destroyers met the British destroyers Wanderer and Wallace. The British ships led the Polish flotilla to Leith, and in the night the Polish destroyers came to Rosyth. However, no convoys were ever organized to help Poland during the Polish Defensive War and the Polish ships were used in support of allied maritime operations.During her operations during the Norwegian Campaign Grom was ranked by the German soldiers as probably the most hated of all the allied ships deployed to the area. This hatred was founded by the fact that the Grom took an intense interest in all hostile movements on shore and was reputed to spend hours lurking the coast in order to kill even a single German. On 4 May 1940, Grom carried out what turned out to be the last of her many Naval Gunfire Support missions in the Narvik area in the Rombaken fjord. Her loaded midship torpedo launcher was struck by a bomb from a German plane and the torpedo exploded, causing the hull to break into two parts and the ship to sink almost immediately with a loss of life of 59 sailors.
