Nick Fleming driving the RX7 at Gurston, gives a good feeling of the speed (up to 100mph in places), unfortunately the camera wasnt mounted tight enough so slips half way through the film but this doesnt detract from the film. I recomend watching it in HD which on youtube is 720p - originally filmed in 1080p on a canon hg20.

Footage from the Inaugural Tony Marsh Memorial meeting at Gurston Down Hillclimb on the 19th July 2009. Just after lunchtime spectators were given the opportunity to see four cars owned by the late Tony Marsh in action on the Hillclimb that he helped to design back in 1967. The cavalcade was headed up with Tony's first competition car, LWP 757, a Mk2 Dellow fitted with the Ford 100E side valve engine with Marshall J75 supercharger, which was built as a special lighweight version of the standard design for 1953. It was delivered originally to Tony Marsh on 28th July 1953 and became his trials car for a number of years before he disposed of it. Tony was re-united with the car in the 1980s and carried out a painstaking restoration back to its original specification in which it remains to this day. The car was driven by his nephew Richard Hollingworth both up the hill and back down receiving applauds from the marshals lined at the edge of the track. Next up was Tony's self built Marsh Special, a 4WD racing car fitted with a 4.2 V8 Buick engine that he used to claim his 6th Hillclimb Championship in 1967. The ingenious 4WD system working in a straight line but reverting back to RWD around the corners. This car was driven up the hill by his middle son Peter Marsh and back down by number three son Paul Marsh. This was followed closely by the replica Ford GT40 that Tony built using the engine from his fated Rovercraft, a March 782 F2 chassis with a monsterous 4.5lt V8 twin ...

Video taken and edited by Tony Bray www.brayspeed.co.uk have a look around his site and spend some money on his DVDs. This is naturally a montage of several runs and I can see where the bits are from fast or slow runs. It's interesting how much it weaves as it goes through the transition from wheelspin to traction.

My footage from Gurston Down, 28-8-11, when the British Hillclimb Championship visited. Brilliant afternoon, as the morning is practice I missed it to do other stuff. Also, my camerawork is improving!
