SimCity 4 High Speed Rail (HSR) Tutorial
This video gives a visual explanation about how to use the High Speed Rail (HSR) mod in Simcity 4. Originally made by ErwinNegentig, it has been brought back from the dead, primarily to be embedded in the HSR's development thread's sticky post at SC4devotion. Erwin has given me full permission to re-upload this, and the NAM Team and I would like to thank him for this opportunity. To use the High Speed Rail Mod in Simcity 4, you must also download the NAM. If properly designed, HSR can be a catalyst for improved urban environments by organizing growth in a more compact and less automobile-centered manner. California's greenhouse gas legislation, AB 32 and SB 375, creates incentives for infill development and greater transit orientation. However, to date there is no guarantee that the local governments that control development around the 26 stations will embrace dense development near rail stations, be able to provide the local transportation services that will produce a seamless door to door trip with HSR its centerpiece. This panel will explore the opportunities and challenges of inciting local land-use decisions that encourage compact and transit-dense urban environments, which can both enable HSR to meet its full potential and provide benefits of social capital and quality of life on their own terms. HSR-West - Auto Club Speedway 2010 - Trophy Race - BOSS & Formula 2.0
It was another fun and well run HSR West racing weekend. But not without problems for me, as on Friday I didn't get much track time due to a leak from the right side radiator. Luckily the radiator held for the rest of the weekend after repairing the leak using epoxy and letting It dry overnight. :-) Saturday went much better as I qualified 7th out of 25 and finished 7th during the qualifying race (Race 1). Sunday morning during the warmup I ran my my best lap time of the weekend a 1:40.62 while chasing Dino Bruno in his Formula Renault. For the trophy race (Race 2) I was gridded 7th again, but I missed the start (wrong gear). After a couple of laps I managed to gain back a few positions, but later spun while avoiding a spinning Formula Atlantic in turn 9 :-). Then received a black flag for passing under yellow in turn 12. It was very close, but the black flag was later removed from my records based on video evidence. It was fun passing cars starting from the back for the rest of the race, but I only managed to get back to 11th. It's a bit unfortunate as the judgment from the corner worker and the spin affected my results. But that's part of racing, I still had a great time and I am looking forward to do better at the next event at Willow Springs. This video is from the 2009 HSR Walter Mitty Challenge 1st Feature Race. The first two laps have already been run behind the pace car due to rain. The video starts on lap three for the first green flag lap. The rain slowly gains momentum until the bottom fall out and the camera shorts. The car is a 68 big block Corvette prepared by Duntov Motor Company. It has stock suspension, brakes and differential with an upgraded engine and transmission.

I rode it on a complete round trip from Hamilton GO Centre, through McMaster to the loop, then back, on the morning of January 26, 2007. The bus was retired in April 2007, replaced by New Flyer DE60LFRs. *Note that this is the ONLY GM Artic video on Youtube.*

HSR-West / SCCA at Laguna Seca - Group 5 Qualif. Race April 30, 2011 - Martin Reinhardt
On board video from: #16 Martin Reinhardt HSR-West & SCCA Vintage 2011 Formula 2.0 & Atlantic + BOSS + FIA 2.0 SR + Can-AM Group 5 - Saturday's Qualifying Race April 30th - May 1st, 2011 - Saturday was a fun day as I qualified 10th for the Qualifying Race out of 32 cars. During the race, I managed to move from 10th up to 3rd until I spun in turn 11 - two laps before the end of the race. Finished 5th overall / 1st in class. - Sunday wasn't as much fun for me as I started the day with a black flag during the warmup for sound 105db. I fixed the sound between run sessions with a test lap alone on the track and was allowed to take part of the trophy race with a 103db. I also broke the camera lens, so there is no video from Sunday. The start of the trophy race was fantastic and I moved from 5th to 3rd after a few laps. Unfortunately I got black flagged again for sound 105db after 12 laps. At first I didn't know if the flag was for me as they didn't show my number, so I took a few laps, I figured that it was me after the Marshall almost jumped out onto the track :-). I am very unhappy and suspicious about being black flagged so far into the race. Laguna Seca is a really fantastic race track, but I am done fighting the sound limit issues. On a positive note, I had the second fastest racing lap of the weekend a 1:29.84 during the trophy race, while I was chasing down the leader who was about a corner ahead of me with 5 laps to go. 74 porsche RSR does one lap of Sebring International Raceway on May 19th, 2006 in HSR /SVRA Race. Car finished seventh overall and first in class. RSR is powered by a KMW Racing built, period correct flat six 3 liter emnine -- producing 300 hp in this 1900 lb car. Best Sebring lap of 2:27 with amateur racing driver. Car capable of 2:20 with pro driver such as Peter Gregg or Hurley haywood. Car is tribute to 74 Brumos RSR that won the 24 hours of Daytona in 1975.
