Masashi Hamauzu - Five piano duets from "Piano Pieces SF2" (duet with daigoro789)
These are five pieces for two pianos from "Piano Pieces [SF 2] ~ Rhapsody on a Theme of SaGa FRONTIER 2~", a piano collection of music from SaGa Frontier 2, composed and arranged by Masashi Hamauzu, played by daigoro789 and myself. Please make sure to check his channel out - he has many more videos of Hamauzu's music, also some very rare ones, and he is also in the process of making full recordings of entire piano collections: www.youtube.com The pieces themselves were renamed for the piano album. Piano duets of game music are still a rare thing. Even rarer was the album itself which was out of print for the longest time - very unfortunate because the only available sheets were found in the actual CD booklet, there was no sheet book that was seperately sold and thus the sheets themselves were also not to be found anywhere. Fortunately, we could acquire them nevertheless. In the meantime, there has actually been an official rerelease of the CD including the sheet booklet just last year. I had to record my part for the the last piece on a different piano because the grand I can usually <b>...</b>

READ!!! This is a bunch of pictures I took along Eastbourne seafront along with Bisaido Island from Final Fantasty X by Masashi Hamauzu. I am quite aware this isn't some stupendous FMV, nor is it some amazingly talented cover version played by my me. I know it's also not some highly entertaining video of me or my mates being a total mug and it's also not a video of some old guy turning a vegitable into some Phoenixphucker guitar! For this recording I played the piece just under tempo and with a lot of ritardondos that aren't written in the score - it just felt like the right way to play it at the time :P Such an emotive piece! I don't care about some minor mistakes, because I can play it without them but I was always interrupted by something while playing (for example my mom came in the last 10 seconds of the song when I played it without mistakes or a truck went by and made noise).

'Unlimited SaGa Overture', for piano solo from Unlimited SaGa by Masashi Hamauzu

This piece is the dramatic opening and very 'Hollywood'esque' theme of the game Unlimited SaGa. I recently noticed that on youtube there was only one other upload for piano solo of pieces from this OST so I just had to get this out there! The piece was originally composed for a full orchestra and is very bombastic - the piano arrangement only really capturing some of that magic. Although the score for Unlimited SaGa was originally composed by Hamauzu, the arranging duties for the piano solo book from which the above version is from was taken up by someone else - a real shame imho, but what you gonna do eh! Actually, as the OST was quite kinda techno/synth-based, alot of the pieces don't really translate that well to piano solo, so alot of the pieces in the piano book sound a bit 'not quite right' - but the Overture, I like to think, is one of the better arranged ones. In this OST, Hamauzu actually arranges, and re-arranges the main theme/chorus of the Overture over and over as it reappears throughout the OST - an interesting way to fill an OST I guess, not too often found. Rin's Travel Agency (FFX) - Guitar
My arrangement of Rin's Travel Agency from Final Fantasy X for solo guitar. A very difficult piece to arrange, since I tried to keep the chords as intact as possible, as I find the original voicings to the integral to the piece. Junya Nakano, Masashi Hamauzu and Nobuo Uematsu composed the FFX soundtrack. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Travel Agency sounds like Hamauzu's work to me, given the use of quartal and extended harmony.
