De knokpartij zet zich voort achter de coulissen en er worden zelfs twee schoten gelost. De AVRO breekt de live-uitzending af en vraagt de kijkers om even geduld. Het is nooit duidelijk geworden wie de schutter was. Een kogel verdwijnt in de muur, het andere projectiel treft de heer Tjon a Sin in het verhemelte. Het wapen wordt drie, vier maanden later teruggevonden in een NOS dames toilet.
