Newfoundland music JOHN GERARD DELANEY PLAYS THE BELL ISLAND MARCH MEDLEY

This is a great medley that was taught to me by the late GREAT uncle HARRY HIBBS . His music absolutely swept across the world in his day , the only thing I wonder about ? A one time given talent as HARRY HIBBS was HONESTLY AND SOULY given to him , By THE ALMIGHTY , WHY at this date , twenty one years past, and NO STAR ? on canada's walk of fame? . Uncle HARRY HIBBS played all over the world, and took the CANADIAN maritime life style with him , He was the true Pioneer for bringing, EAST COAST NEWFOUNDLAND AND CANADIAN MUSIC to the word. So please when you hear this music and like it , as so many do'''' CALL THE CANADIAN WALK OF FAME AND ASK IF THEY INDEED HAVE A REASON ?,WHY THE HECK NOT PEOPLE ? GET WITH THE 21st CENTUREY, AND GET THE LATE, HARRY HIBBS HIS STAR ON THE CANADIAN WALK OF FAME , HE STILL SELL'S MORE RECORDING'S THEN ANY EAST COAST BAND TO DATE. HARRY HIBBS DESERVES A STAR ON THAT WALK OF FAME, AND I KNOW THOSE KIND PEOPLE OUT THERE WILL SEEK IT FOR HIM , GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR GETTING HIS RIGHTFUL STAR ................ his nephew JOHN GERARD DELANEY

The Keefe Sisters - Love Knows (1971)

Very nice, little song you want to carry in your heart for the rest of your live. The Keefe Sisters recorded this tune in Neufundland, mid-seventies. It might be due to this remote location that they sound very much like late-sixties and I am extremely thankful for that (can't image it being disco-ed). The backing band is Harry Hibbs and the Caribou Showband. I think Harry Hibbs was a very influental musician in Neufundland. I don't know much about the Keefe Sisters either, only that one of them, Patricia (Keefe) Gysbers, was glad to find their record posted in the web and that her older sister Jamie passed away some years ago (RIP, Jamie!). Enjoy the music, it's intensity is true magical, a great legacy! - Erzeugt mit AquaSoft DiaShow für YouTube: www.aquasoft.de

Newfoundland music JOHN GERARD DELANEY PLAYS SKIP TO MY LOU

This is a great song at the pub's ,I like to speed it up a little to wear out the crowd , but they seem to always keep up. There is a few shots of uncle HARRY HIBBS from his TV show in this vid . He had to be the most talented man that ever came out of newfoundland and I am proud to be his nephew and , chas'n in his steps. LOU GRADANTTI and I had alot of fun composing this song .Brian Baron is the best and something to be reckoned with,, Hope you enjoy.
Cock of the North Rhawneld57's Diatonic Accordion Tune

This song is a Harry Hibbs Classic. I should say at the age of 5 he was my mentor via his records my mom used to buy for me as a kid. So several years later I decide to get an accordion inspired by all my accordion Friends and especially my dear friend Kyrah23. Kyrah23 has been a wonderful player and musician and wonderful friend as well. If you know Kyrah23 you are very lucky. Cheers Kyrah23.
Ode to Black Velvet Band

One of four songs I wrote and recorded this year. Pay attention there is a shout out to the late great Harry Hibbs in it.
