Hazel was an United States alternative rock band based in Portland, Oregon. The group was a quartet, consisting of Jody Bleyle (drums and vocals), Pete Krebs (guitar and vocals), Brady Smith (bass), and Fred Nemo (dance). The group was formed on February 14, 1992. Although based in the Pacific Northwest and active during the grunge movement in rock music, Hazel's music was different from most grunge in that it featured both male and female vocals as well as a more melodic sound that could be fairly accurately described as power pop. Hazel's music was not particularly intricate musically, relying on a few chords, sheer energy (many songs being played at breakneck speed), and vocal intensity. Interestingly, rather than singing together in harmony, Krebs and Bleyle often sang completely different parts that answered or intertwined with one another. The majority of lyrics dealt with problems regarding relationships, including the regret and resentment following a breakup ("Everybody's Best Friend") or the anxiety felt while attempting to begin a relationship ("Day Glo"). The group was also notable for featuring the dancer Fred Nemo as a full member. I don't know how many remember this show, but with this Thanksgiving Episode, you can certainly get the idea of what the show was about. In fact, it pretty much was faithful to the character in the Ted Key's comics. Academy Award winner Shirley Booth plays Hazel, who is the Baxters maid. But besides being the made she is busy sticking her nose into every aspect of the Baxter's life. She was, I suppose, considered one of the family which brings me to my comment on this episode which I viewed for the first time in preparing for this upload. (I may have seen it years ago but my memory fails me in this instance.) I find it odd that Hazel has to be especially invited to sit down with the Family for Thanksgiving dinner. It seems to me that with everything she does for the Baxters, this would have been a no brainer. Anyway, I sure hope she was paid well.

Hazel TV Show 1960's 2 60 second previews Hazel (Shirley Booth) debuted in the fall of 1961 Based on the Saturday Evening Post cartoons, the series centered around Hazel Burke, a maid, who for the first four seasons worked for the Baxter family. George Baxter was the head of the family which consisted of his wife, Dorothy and their son, Harold. Hazel ran the household and often preempted George's authority.
