Trivium has always been one our favorite bands here at the show, so I am glad to finally release this interview to the public. It has been my privelage to interview vocalist/guitarist, Matt Heafy three times in our career, but this interview represents the first time we've shared dialogue with him one-on-one. This detailed chat, which was taped on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin on October 26th, 2011 sees us cover quite a bit of ground beginning with the new release, 'In Waves', the Dream Theater tour & Matt's love for DT, his upcoming signature guitar from Gibson & musical work outside of Trivium. I am especially fond of this interview, not only because, Matt is one of my favorite musicans in heavy music due to his intellectual approach & his personal/work ethic, but because this moment in time represents a new era for the band,....one which I believe will truly mark the beginning of the band's 'ascendancy' to the top of the heavy metal ranks. So, when I said 'future guitar legend' I meant it in several ways. To Matt,...thanks for always being professional, remebering the love RMW has for Trivium, all the killer riffs/licks, the great performances & for just being cool.
