Highwayman - Johnny Cash~Willie Nelson~Waylon Jennings~Kris Kristoffersen

The Highwaymen were a country supergroup comprising four musicians well known for, among other things, their involvement and pioneering influence on the outlaw country subgenre: Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Lyrics: I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride With sword and pistol by my side Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five But I am still alive. I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide And with the sea I did abide. I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed But I am living still. I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide Where steel and water did collide A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and around and around I fly a starship across the Universe divide And when I reach the other side I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can Perhaps I may become a highwayman again Or I may simply be a single drop of rain But I will remain And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again..

The Highwaymen - Highwayman

The Highwaymen were a country supergroup comprising four musicians well-known for, among other things, their involvement and pioneering influence on the outlaw country subgenre: Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Interestingly, the group itself wasn't named "The Highwaymen" from the beginning. On their first two albums, they are credited as "Nelson, Jennings, Cash, Kristofferson". The title track of the album was the first to be released, as the album was recording following the song's success on the charts. It is distinctive in that it utilizes the voices of all of the members of the group and has no chorus between the four stanzas, sung by Nelson, Kristofferson, Jennings and Cash, respectively. "Highwayman", itself a Jimmy Webb cover, remains the most popular and widely-known of The Highwaymen's songs, reaching No. 1 on the country charts. Hoffmaestro - Highwayman (with lyrics)

I am a highway man On the road again Me and my guitar And my ramblin' band Starring at the road Steady gettin' blowed Carrying my load 'Cause I know I've gotta go my way Look up to the sky, cities flying by Im a man alive cause Im pretty sure Im gonna die one day So I say the road leads back to thee It always leads back to thee How can I show my love so you will open your arms to me So please wont you tell me Where the road will end Got me a bottle As my only friend Standing in the rain, dealing with the pain Everythings the same and it doesnt really matter what I say Picking up the phone, come to take you home You will say no doubts, the reality of today So still my thought fly back to thee They always fly back to thee Please wont you understand that without you by my side Theres no meaning So will you ever love me again, only time will tell Im in a hurry, cause theyre waiting down in hell And no matter what I see, say or do The road lead back to you

Highwayman Wide Screen

This is one of my older videos that was done in wide screen format. I uploaded it to www.warcraftmovies.com and a fan uploaded it to YouTube. Now that YouTube supports a wide screen format, and since some folks have been asking me to post my other videos here, I've decided to upload this wide screen version. Note that while it is wide screen, it's still not Hi-Def. For that, check out www.warcraftmovies.com. Here's the original description: This video wanted to be made ever since "Beer for My Horses", but was put on the shelf time and again for a variety of reasons. Cranius finally decided to just get 'r done. The song was performed by Country legends "Highwaymen" (Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash). See my blog at www.cranius.com for more information.

The Highwaymen - Highwayman

Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson gathered in the 1980s to form a country band called The Highwaymen. This song is taken from their album released in 1985 called 'Highwayman' (With Lyrics) Enjoy! [Lyrics] I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride With sword and pistol by my side Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five But I am still alive. The Newry Highwayman - The Johnstons

The Johnstons singing The Newry Highwayman. THE NEWRY HIGHWAYMAN In Newry town, I was bred and born In Stephen's Green now I lie in scorn I served my time to the saddling trade But I turned out to be, yes I turned out to be a roving blade At seventeen I took a wife I loved her dearly as I loved my wife And to maintain her both fine and gay I took to robbing, I took to robbing on the King's Highway I never robbed any poor man yet Nor any tradesman did I beset I robbed the lords and the ladies bright And robbed their jewels, and robbed their jewels for my heart's delight I robbed Lord Golding, I do declare And Lady Mansell on Grosvenor Square I shook the shutters and bid them goodnight And home I went then, and home I went then to my heart's delight To Covent Garden I made my way With my dear wife for to see the play Lord Fielding's gang, they did me pursue And I was taken, and I was taken by that cursed crew My father cried "Oh, my darling son" My wife she wept and cried "I am undone" My mother tore her white locks and cried Saying "In the cradle," saying "In the cradle Willie should have died" And when I'm dead, aye and in my grave A flashy funeral pray let me have With six bold highwaymen to carry me Give them good broadswords, give them good broadswords and sweet liberty Six pretty maidens to bear my corpse Give them white garlands and ribbons all And when I'm dead, they will speak the truth He was a wild and, he was a wild and a wicked youth

The Highwaymen - American Remains

The Highwaymen - American Remains I am a shotgun rider for the San Jacinto line, The desert is my brother, my skin is cracked and dry. I was riding on a folk coach and everything was fine, 'Til we took a shorter road to save some time. The bandits only fired once, they shot me in the chest. They may have wounded me but they'll never get the best, Of better men: 'Cos I'll ride again. I am a river gambler, I make a livin' dealin' cards. My clothes are smooth and honest, my heart is cold and hard. I was shufflin' for some delta boys on a boat for New Orleans, I was the greatest shark they'd ever seen. But the Captain bumped a sandbar, and an ace fell from my sleeve. They threw me overboard as I swore I didn't cheat, But I could swim: And I'll ride again. We are heroes of the homeland, American remains. We live in many faces and answer many names. We will not be forgotten, we won't be left behind. Our memories live on in mortal minds. And poets pens: We'll ride again. I am a mid-west farmer, I make a livin' off the land, I ride a John Deere tractor, I'm a liberated man. But the rain it hasn't fallen, since the middle of July, And if it don't come soon my crops will die. The bank man says he likes me, but there's nothin' he can do. He tells me that he's comin' but the clouds are comin' too. He ain't my friend: And I'll ride again. I am an American Indian, my tribe is Cherokee. My forefathers loved this land they left it here for me. But the white man came with boats and trains ...

Loreena Mckennitt-The Highwayman (With lyrics)

LYRICS: The wind was a torrent of darkness among the ghastly trees The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon the cloudy seas The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor When the highwayman came riding, riding, riding The highwayman came riding up to the old inn door. He´da french cocked hat at his forehead a bunch of lace at his chin A coat of claret velvet and breeches of brown doe-skin They fitted with nary a wrinkle his boots were up to the thigh and he rode with a jeweled twinkle his pistol butts a-twinkle his rapier hilt a-twinkle under the jeweled sky. And over cobbles he clattered and clashed in the dark inn-yard and he tapped with his whip on the shutters but all was locked and barred He whistled a tune to the window and who should be waiting there but the landlord´s black-eyed daughter Bess, the landlord´s daughter plaiting a dark red love knot into her long black hair. "One kiss my bonny sweetheart, I´m after a prize tonight but I should be back with the yellow gold before the morning light Yet if they press me sharply and harry me through the day Then look for me by the moonlight watch for me by the moonlight I´ll come to thee by the moonlight though hell should bar the way." He rose up right in the stirrups he scarce could reach her hand but she loosened her hair in the casement his face burned like a brand As a black cascade of purfume came tumbling over his breast and he kissed it´s waves in the moonlight oh,sweet waves in the moonlight He tugged ...
