Guy Clark - Homegrown Tomatoes

I wish I had this in better quality, but the performance is worth sharing. Lyrics ('cause I know you'll want to sing along!) ... Ain't nothin' in the world that I like better Than bacon & lettuce & homegrown tomatoes Up in the mornin' out in the garden Get you a ripe one don't get a hard one Plant `em in the spring eat `em in the summer All winter with out `em's a culinary bummer I forget all about the sweatin' & diggin' Every time I go out & pick me a big'n Homegrown tomatoes, homegrown tomatoes What'd life be without homegrown tomatoes Only two things that money can't buy That's true love & homegrown tomatoes You can go out to eat & that's for sure But it's nothin' a homegrown tomato won't cure Put `em in a salad, put `em in a stew You can make your very own tomato juice Eat `em with eggs, eat `em with gravy Eat `em with beans, pinto or navy Put `em on the side put `em in the middle Put a homegrown tomato on a hotcake griddle If I's to change this life I lead I'd be Johnny Tomato Seed `Cause I know what this country needs Homegrown tomatoes in every yard you see When I die don't bury me In a box in a cemetary Out in the garden would be much better I could be pushin' up homegrown tomatoes

In the midst of a dense city setting in downtown Pasadena, radical change is taking root. For over twenty years, the Dervaes family have transformed their home into an urban homestead and model for sustainable agriculture and city living. Through the creation of the "Urban Homestead" the Dervaes family shows that change is possible -- one step at a time. They harvest 3 tons of organic food annually from their 1/10 acre garden while incorporating many back-to-basics practices, solar energy and biodiesel in order to reduce their footprint on the earth's resources. Through the creation of the "Urban Homestead" the Dervaes family shows that change is possible, Homegrown Revolution is a short film that was never created for a film festival circuit but has a true homegrown, homemade story behind its creation. The original version of Homegrown Revolution was made in three days for a lecture Jules Dervaes gave at the University of California Los Angeles in October 2007 on the topic of Slow Food (SEE ORIGINAL ...

Homegrown Wheatgrass

Our wheatgrass experiment was a success. Even though we didn't notice a difference in growth and/or taste between our wheat berries soaked in filtered water, and those soaked in filtered water with a 1/2 ounce of 3% food-grade Hydrogen Peroxide. But what we grew tasted great, and our wheatgrass juicer worked like a champ. Here's a video recap of our experiment.

Free Car Giveaway!!!!

FAVORITE, COMMENT, LIKE to WIN!!! OMGGG!!! This is a parody on youtuber's who give stuff away in every singe video. When this happens, they typically say you have to do everything like rate, favorite...etc. which often puts them on the front page of Youtube. Because of the contest, it usually bumps off any other videos on the page. I don't have a huge problem with this but it seems unfair at times. Hell, I even did a give away one time. But people do like to do it in every video which others on youtube just hate! Anyways, I just went crazy with this! Havana Homegrown: Inside Cuba's Urban Agriculture Revolution

This video from the nonprofit group KGI (KitchenGardeners.org ) looks at the urban agriculture revolution in Havana, Cuba and its origins. Cuba is not only an island nation in terms of its geography, but also its economy and politics as a result of the US embargo and the fall of the Soviet Union, Cuba's largest source of trade and aid until the Berlin Wall fell in 1991. Cut off from the world's pipeline of food, oil, chemical pesticides and fertilizers, Cuba embarked upon an ambitious program to grow as much of its own organic food as possible in the 1990s during what was known as the "special period." This short video produced by the nonprofit group Kitchen Gardeners International (KGI) peeks into Havana's urban farms and gardens to see what lessons they have to offer other cities working to move toward sustainable food security. For more information on other homegrown solutions around the world, please see KGI's website here kitchengardeners.org

HOMEGROWN follows the Dervaes family who run a small organic farm in the heart of urban Pasadena, California. While "living off the grid", they harvest over 6000 pounds of produce on less than a quarter of an acre, make their own bio diesel, power their computers with the help of solar panels, and maintain a website that gets 4000 hits a day. HR 1955 Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Preve

Look at the definitions of violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism as defined in Section 899A of the bill. The definition of violent radicalization uses vague language to define this term of promoting any belief system that the government considers to be an extremist agenda. Since the bill doesn't specifically define what an extremist belief system is, it is entirely up to the interpretation of the government. Considering how much the government has done to destroy the Constitution they could even define Ron Paul supporters as promoting an extremist belief system. Literally, the government according to this definition can define whatever they want as an extremist belief system. Essentially they have defined violent radicalization as thought crime."

Home Grown - Tomorrow

Request Anything :D, Also the lyrics! Awake at ground zero. Another day wasting away. Nothing seems to matter. 'Cause nothing's ever changed. California dreamin'. Has never meant this much to me. When living in this nightmare. Comes so easily. Holding on when I don't belong. If this is right then I can't go wrong. Holding on. But I know right now I'll never make it. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow. And figure out where to begin. Then maybe I won't feel so hollow. But I'm pretty sure that I'll be sleeping in... Days seem like they're decades. And minutes pass like years gone by. Still I sit here wasting the time of my life. California dreamin'. Will never mean that much to me. And you'll never understand how it feels to be. Holding on when you don't belong. When you don't feel right but it's all you've got. Holding on. But I'm pretty sure I'll never make it. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow. And figure out where to begin. Then maybe I won't feel so hollow. It's 3AM. And it feels like there four walls are caving in. Please tell me I'm not alone. 'Cause I'm tired of sleeping in. Wait, maybe I'll wake up tomorrow. And figure out where to begin. Then maybe I won't feel so hollow. But I'm pretty sure that I'll be sleeping in... DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN THIS SONG! NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!!
