In this live in-studio performance of 'The Way it Is', Jacob Moon adds his unique interpretation to the song, bringing a new groove and an updated third verse. Using live looping, he is able to record the chord changes and play a lead guitar solo (see Subdivisions or Great Beyond for more examples of this technique). Nothing was pre-recorded in this live performance. An old song (it made the charts 25 years ago), but a timely message of economic justice for these times. This is my rendition of one of the greatest piano songs in my opinion. Bruce Hornsby's "The Way It Is." Its a bit raw, but I know I would never be 100% satisfied with it so here it is. This is an experiment in video editing and a major technical challenge on the piano. The drum part was easy to play, but the recording quality is far from great. I'm fine with it for now, though... just getting my feet wet. I hope you enjoy.
