USPSA: Hoser's Paradise
The final club match of the 2011 season at Renton Fish & Game, one of the best USPSA clubs I've ever gotten to shoot at. The final match is a big ol' hosefest, over 200 rounds fired, 40+ round stages, lots of moving, lots of shooting, and just a general "blow off some steam" good time. Olympic Theme Song - performed by a Canadian Hoser
The idea is simple: Raw hose, mouthpiece, and a tune = familiar olympic theme. It all gets better at around 1:05 in the video. Bored on January 8, 2010, I recorded a few parts of "garden hose". By ear on the fly, I arranged/performed the first part of "Bugler's Dream" by Leo Arnaud. I stopped short of the keychange for two reasons: 1) My triple tonguing isn't what it used to be as I haven't really played in over 10 years, and 2) I didn't want to cut another length of hose and spend time tuning it. Natural trumpet (or "hose horn" in this case) may sound a tad odd to the ear; plus for some reason I was blowing a lot of bell-tones with gross swells. There are no cheater holes or other editing to the recording. Bad tuning, missed notes, everything... artifacts of no rehearsal, weak chops, and the fact this is a garden hose. Enjoy!

Canadian Hoser performs Canadian National Anthem: O'Canada
This Canada Day 2010, I decided to record our national anthem Canadian hoser style. I arranged this about 6 months ago while travelling and didn't have the energy or time to record the 5 parts (yes, I know one part is rather slack, but I'm not sure what else to write in and my composition/arranging skills are very rusty) For those curious: - 3 hose lengths used - Parts 1, 2, and 3 performed on Hose A - Part 4 performed on Hose B (one octave below hose A) - Part 5 performed on Hose C (one octave below hose B) Trumpet, euphonium, and tuba mouthpieces used on Hose A, B and C respectively, all very large rim diameters for their respective horns. Air velocity is key to range, not cup diameter. Recorded in one 20minute session, edited in 1 hour. Slight reverb added to "moisten" the sound. Uploaded a day late, so I guess, Happy Canada Day Boxing Day! =) Enjoy!

Jana and Robert (Bob) Barnhill International President and Past Int'l Pres respectively, visited Toastmasters D42 (Saskatoon Saskatchewan) in May 2009. Of course Jana got all the attention so Robert felt a little left out. So District Governor Elect Tim Hubick decided that he would do something about it so he asked LGET Elect Greg Gazin (aka Doug McKenzie, Hoser) - to be the impromptu grammarian and help Robert with his Canadiana and in the meantime induct both Jana and Robert as Honorary Canadians. AAAAAAAH!!! I'm scared!!!! O_O_O_O The Great Mystery of Moses Lake remains unsolved. In order to have a storyline for our sequel, we need someone to somehow connect these plot points that we made up on the spot: - Brian went through a slide headfirst with a shirt on and came out feetfirst with no shirt after taking longer than usual for a slide and making weird noises. - Brian's car disappeared. - Charlie, who at one point claimed to have driven from Kirkland to Moses Lake to see Brian, later explains that he did not even bring a car but walked instead. - Brian's longboard vanished out of his hands. - There was no cell phone service for Brian in that one random spot in the park (which Brian clearly always goes to and checks to see if he has service there: "I ALWAYS get service here!") - A red park table disappeared. - Either Brian and Charlie both teleported to another section of the park without realizing it or a tree changed shape and size and the water level of the lake rose waaay too quickly. - Strange markings appeared on a tree, apparently stating: "Beware the black.... ????" - "LIES" appears spray painted on a dock multiple times (only one is easy to see in the video) as well as the name TJ, who clearly is one of... uh... "them." - Some pine needles were floating in mid-air and stuff. - Music randomly shows up everytime something "creepy" happens.
