Hurdle Training - Reactive hurdling at sprint pace

November 3, 2011 - It's hurdle day and I felt like doing some extreme hurdling so to speak. I enjoy coming up with different ways to stay motivated and challenge my ability to react to a hurdle using various heights. Today's workout covered 6 hurdles and the set up was to come from a standing 6 step sprint. The rhythm I had in mind (3-step, 1-step, 3-step, 1-step, 1-step) With the heights from 1 - 6. 36 inches, 36", 30", 36", 30', 30". Markings I use - h1-2 (27 feet), h2-3 (15 feet), h3-4 (27 feet), h4-6 (15 feet). Focus: training the mental along with the physical to react to a hurdle at various heights and placement. If anyone hurdled before and made the statement the hurdle came up on me fast.. this is to help train you to react and maintain momentum through the hurdle. To not break or sit back to keep from crash and burning. Love the challenge even at the age of 44. Music by 2 Men 4 Soul - Spread your Sax
