Filmed by Dr. Karol Liszniewski of Cincinnati, as were all the 1920s-1940s videos on this channel. I include these because my father, pianist DavidEdward Smith, studied piano from the age of 12 (1936) until age 20 (1944) with Dr. Karol Liszniewski of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. My father wrote: "All the Polish celebrities knew Dr. Liszniewski (who speaks Polish besides the Poles?). Arthur Rubinstein and Mieczyslaw often stopped by when they were on tour. So did Rachmaninoff and Paderewski. I would be allowed to sit right next to them--only inches from the keyboard--to watch them practice by the hour--preparing for their solo recitals and concerto performances. They would give me lessons and sometimes, when I was practicing in my room upstairs, they would open the door at the bottom of the stairs and yell such things as 'Practice SLOWLY' or, for example, 'Who told you to do that crescendo in the left hand' (I had done something terrible, no doubt). 'That's good-don't ever change that!' (What a pleasant surprise). Sometimes they would come to my room to watch me practice--stopping me to show better fingering, a more beautiful interpretation, or how to solve some difficult problem 'at hand'. To an artist there is nothing quite so satisfying as the solving of an 'aesthetic problem'."

Paderewski recorded this Chopin Waltz in c# minor op.64 no.2, for Victor in New York City on May 23,1917. Matrix C 19923-2

Ignacy Jan Paderewski (November 6, 1860 - June 29, 1941) was a Polish pianist, composer, diplomat, politician, and the third Prime Minister of Poland. From his early childhood, Paderewski was interested in music. Initially he took piano lessons with a private tutor. At the age of 12, in 1872, he went to Warsaw and was admitted to the Warsaw Conservatorium. It was in Vienna that he made his musical debut in 1887. He soon gained great popularity and his subsequent appearances (in Paris in 1889, and in London in 1890) were major successes. His brilliant playing created a furore which reached to almost extravagant lengths of admiration; and his triumphs were repeated in the United States in 1891. His name at once became synonymous with the highest level of piano virtuosity. This little set of variations may not be the highest art but it touches me very much. Earl Wild recorded this in 1991.

Add &fmt=18 for stereo. Ignace Jan Paderewski performs Chopin's Valse Brilliante Opus 34 No. 1, recorded September 1922 on Duo Art piano roll, and played on a newly restored 1920 George Steck 6'1" Duo Art grand. Paderewski was one of the most famous performers who recorded for Aeolian in this period. Some people dismiss pneumatic players and these roll recordings today as musically inaccurate or unimportant, perhaps because the player mechanism is complex and few of the surviving instruments are in good repair or regulation. But in their heyday after 1915 or so, they were generally considered to be the best way to record piano performances, up until the 1950's when the LP came along.

I hope you guys comment more on the game itself (story, gameplay, etc) rather than the voice acting only and yes I will leave it on for the rest of the game, like it or not. Boss 12: Ignacy. Oh? you thought we were done? not only the game doesn't let us save before the boss we fought 2 minutes ago (Kanher) but also doesn't let us save after it and throws another boss in XD I don't know if you can even win this one though, I really didn't care for it. I don't want to go through all the church and fight Kanher again just to try again against this guy lol. Other than that Evil Butler FTW! Enjoy! Coś dla wielbicieli muzyki poważnej. Koncert Ignacego Paderewskiego w USA w 1937 roku. I DO WSZYSTKICH WIDZÓW. PODPISZCIE PETYCJĘ!!! www.petycje.pl

Boss 20: Ignacy 2 Quite honestly one of the best battles of the game IMO (hell, the next 6 boss battles are just win overall) Anyway, we got a taste of evil buttler's power back in the church of Gula, but now we can beat him. He buff himself up in the first turn, so hit him with a Trinity Act (or Excel Trinity if you have enough AP) right away to do some good damage before his defense goes up. The rest of the fight is pretty much keep your HP up and attack with Magic or buid up SP for more TA or ET. Speaking of Excel Trinities... don't expect to see those till 3 more bosses. I know they exist, I know I could have done them, I just didn't. Period. Enjoy! Please Leave a Comment and Rate! ------------------------------------- System: Wii Lv 47 1st Playthrough

Cóż więcej dodać, prócz życzenia by ludzie tak wielcy jeszcze kiedyś zechcieli urodzić się pośród nas...

He's pretty difficult, which isn't surprising seeing as this is the first and only real fight with Ignacy. He buffs a lot and can petrify anyone in a second with his divine slash. He's not that tough but you just have to take your time and not rush him. He's strong to fire so if you're going to spam magic, don't use fire. THEY come from different worlds but they both love bridge. Ignacy Tyrmand, 100, first started playing bridge in 1935 in Poland. On the ship to Australia in 1949, he played against people in first class and usually won enough money to buy himself a soft drink every couple of days. Max Henbest sees himself as a normal 19-year-old. He goes to Monash University, he works part time in Brighton, Camberwell and the city, he goes out with his friends and he has been playing bridge for four years. They are the oldest and youngest people playing in the 2011 Australian National Bridge Championships at Albert Park Lake.

Second half of the battle. His excel act isn't that powerful, but you'll know when it's coming (when you see him on the turn order only once, with the attack icon on him, just like any other boss) so you can just defend. It does a lot of status effects though. Other than that, same strategy as part 1. Game: Arc Rise Fantasia Language: English Console: Wii Recorded with Hauppauge HD PVR, Encoded in Sony Vegas 9.0

Unique Duo-Art piano roll recording of Paderewski playing his Caprice. Recorded in October 1922. Check my other videos from the Grand Piano Era.

Paderewski (1860-1941), composer, pianist, and eventually Prime Minister of Poland, needs little introduction from me. This piece dates from 1886. The opening section is marked 'Andantino', and it is interesting to hear the historical 1967 performance by Arthur Loesser (1894-1969) here on YouTube ( www.youtube.com ), which uses a much slower tempo than I do, with extremes of rubato. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear www.psear.co.uk
