Imogen Heap - Speeding Cars

I hope this song helps the others get through some hard times... I dedicate this one to those who deal with pain and depression like myself... Thank you for all the heart-felt messages, they really mean a lot! I tried to think of a "creative video" for this tune, but yet I couldn't find any concept that would've lived up the beauty of this masterpiece. When I came across a "tire swing picture", I thought "that's it" - it's my personal reflection of this song. I wanted everyone to focus on the lyrics and music, even with their eyes closed, hence just that one humble picture that "tells it all". To me Imogen Heap is a wonder musician, an Artist in every meaning of that word - I'm glad somehow my posting this song helped get more and more people into her music. It's about a song, one's personal moment, a feeling. Hope you don't mind, Immi.. you deserve every piece of admiration you get. The song is from Goodnight & Go single. I highly recommend Imogen Heap's second solo album "Speak For Yourself", as well as the latest one - "Ellipse". www.imogenheap.co.uk www.myspace.com www.youtube.com I do not own the rights for this song.

Imogen Heap - Lifeline

This is Imogen Heap's fantastic new song, Lifeline. It is so awesome you might die. Listen at your peril. A few people have rightly mentioned that this song is the result of a lot of hard work from Immi and have questioned whether it is right to have it on here, where people can listen for free. I totally agree that if you like the song, you should buy it. The reason I uploaded this is for those people that maybe have heard of Immi and want to hear what some of her stuff is like, or for people that are just looking at random videos - it is not here for music pirates trying to avoid paying for stuff (curse you!!). iTunes URL: itunes.apple.com Of course I absolutely do not own this at all and there is no copyright infringement intended. I just want everyone to be able to enjoy it. It's sooooo good. Listen. Now.

Hello... a right old rambling of me trying to get across various things and actually looking back on it not playing you very much music er... anyway...I mostly re-visited Tidal and I absolutely love it now. Swoon sneak peak.. and whizzy BBD thing... I did a lot more than that.. but yeah. Got the beginnings of a new track down. It's gonna be all a cappella (apart from a few birds and possible fire cracklings). Listen to Mic Check for reference on type of vocal sounds... this is super rough, thrown down in a couple of hours. Now lyrics to write... couldn't sleep last night and so sat up laptop on duvet cover and typed some bits. Something about being in the moment. What it takes to get there. What sets it up. Pain, water, a kiss, longing... threading something together and hopefully get that down so I can play you more before long. Loving twitter... www.twitter.com/imogenheap If you're hungry for more updates from me then sign up for that. it's a micro version of this. Day to day sometimes hour to hour. Want some others to follow? I like these guy's music. Miloshmusic and DavidSugar (just started .. please encourage!) Also Calvin Harris and Stephen Fry super active and fun. Twitter related : Going to release those vocal files for whoever wants to put music to it too by 12th Feb as something for Twestival. It was a song Idea I came up with for an animation that never happened... music was going to be done by someone else... but now that person is you! The song that never was ...

Yeeeeoooooo.....lots of bits. bit of earth, bit of a-ha! (take out the piano and one is happy again) bit of "the song that never was" for twestival (I'm going to the London one 12th Feb) twestival.com and an ickle bit of my bit in "Secret Friend" - the IAMX song I spent a couple of days on. I went quite a bit over the 10min thing on this one hence bird/glockenspiel/beep. I like them though :) "The song that never was".. Is not going to be on my album and because I specifically wrote it for this children's animated movie "little spirit", it probably wasn't going to have a life on any other album. Due to legal crap and crossed wires the song never ended up being in the movie. So... rather than it go to waste.. and just sit around, I thought, for a bit of fun some of you might like to throw some music at it so it lives. A bit like that game where you draw the head on the paper, fold it over and give it to the next person to draw the body. So I've drawn the head. You're turn! Logic, pro-tools and garageband sessions with vocals in or just the WAV files themselves will be up somewhere (waiting for address etc) 12th Jan. Keep an eye out on my twitter or my website/myspace. On a less fun note...what I actually wanted to say re: youtube videos with my music in, is that it's been a right nightmare trying to sort out why it's been happening coz it's NOTHING to do with me! Total cock up, like I said. My camp is (enjoying) slapping wrists as we speak and trying to sort this mess out ...

So this is it! The final "Making of Ellipse" vblog! Justine... THANK YOU SO MUCH for these! It's so wonderful to have these to look back on. So great to see the progress from start to finish on screen over these 2 years. I don't know if you lot know this but they're all done in one take and though they only technically take 10-12 mins to film it takes a LOT longer than that to put them together from the preparation to the editing, to the uploading. Right now.... i'm completely frantic trying to get together the artwork for this wednesday, shooting a video on Thursady, rehearsals, photo shoots... I don't have a minute to myself! Making this album was the first time I've been in one place for more than 2 years since I was 12! Now it all changes. I've got to go to the states for another promo trip 5th July. I really found in the last few months I treasured that time. Knowing that once I'm done... my time is no longer my time. It's everyone's. It'll be a good couple of years now until it slows down and I can go jogging everyday round these lovely fields, or playing the piano here. I'm excited for a change in scenery and pace. Taking a big old breath though at the moment. It's a strange place I'm in. Finished musically but no time to really digest it being done. I couldn't have spent another day on it though to be honest. It was driving me completely mad! I so cannot wait for you to hear it. Maybe that's when it'll sink in that I'm finished for real... when you have it in your ...

ROLLING AND TUMBLIN Imogen Heap with Jeff Beck live at Ronnie Scott's 2007 from BBC 4 TV special LYRICS: Well, I rolled and I tumbled, Cried the whole night long Well, I rolled and I tumbled, Cried the whole night long When I woke up this morning, Didn't know right or wrong Well if the river was a whiskey And I was a diving duck If the river was a whiskey And I was a diving duck Well I would dive to the bottom I swear, I'd never come up. Well I could have had religion, In this bad old Sunday I could have had religion, In this bad old Sunday But whisky and bad love, Wouldn't let me have my way I rolled and I tumbled And I rolled and I tumbled I rolled and I tumbled

IMOGEN HEAP clear the area

album version Knock, knock are you alone? No ones out here and I was not followed. Love, love youre already home. Partys over and you dont look so good. You find your way back down. And Ill keep the area clear please clear the area. When you find your way back down in one piece. Then Ill just be waiting here right here. Low light mercury morning No need to stay as its always nothing. But your eyes tell a whole other story and I feel the weight of the world. You Wont talk You Wont try just move Its too still in your sadness. Cry give up its okay Youve just got to trust me. You find your way back down. And Ill keep the area clear please clear the area. When you find your way back down in one piece. Then Ill just be waiting here right here. Slowly darling nobody means anymore to me than you If youre in baby then Im in (into this)with you, always. Careful close to the edge(Youre scaring me) Fall in to my arms.(away with it all) Fall into love love You find your way back down. And Ill keep the area clear please clear the area. When you find your way back down in one piece. Then Ill just be waiting here right here. You find your way back down. And Ill keep the area clear please clear the area. When you find your way back down in one piece. Then Ill just be waiting here right here. You find your way back down. Way back down, And Ill keep the area clear please clear the area. When you find your way back down in one piece. Then Ill just be waiting here right here.

Imogen Heap - Aha! (Lyrics)

[NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED] Lyrics : La la la la, La la la la, La la la la, La la la La la la la, La la la la, La la la la la Eat, Sleep, breathe it, you're full of the stuff Go bag it, tie it up tight Wheat-meat-dairy-free, teetotal, happy clappy High on life, you should try it, try it, you know Go on while no one's looking. A-ha! Gotcha now! Caught red handed in the biscuit tin! Cost you to keep me quiet! Golden boy boots, Pocket pedal stool Picking sharp smart moves Plastic, tin can, paper separator Busy bee wave, wave save the planet flag But sneaky in suburbia A-ha! Candid Camera Hook, line and sinker For the four-wheel drive Cost you to keep me quiet! Keep me quiet! (Keep me quiet!) Nicest, sweetest, upmost in everything So charming, very charming Well read, can play the fool, no one's ill at ease and put their deepest swiss bank trust in you No one saw it coming Aaaha! Aaaaaaha! Aaaaaaaaaha! You killed a man Cost you to keep me quiet!

Well well well well well you lot... heeeeerre it is. You have been so wonderfully beautifully encouraging throughout the whole process. I know it was an long wait for this one but I didn't want to post up another vblog until I was actually finished. Really really finished! It was driving me mad not being able to announce I was done and I opted to just get on with it instead of talking about it! Sooo... this is it. This one and no.40 tie up the making of Ellipse in blog format. it's so great to look back on this from the beginning on vblog 1 when I started building the studio to now. I didn't actually post any musical clips up (don't kill me) on this vblog. We're so close now (relatively) and just want to save it now for you to hear on your headphones, in your car, on the sofa, snuggling up with a some nice beverage and/or lover or whatever it is you're doing when you first listen to it. I don't know what to say... I just want to stop typing now and get it out there for you to just watch. Imogen Heap sings "Aha!" @ Webster Hall. The girl playing the cello won the audition the day before. She dropped the bow and the mic during the song, and Imogen had to improvise. The girl was great though! ;-) Notice Imogen has mics on her wrists. She said she came up with the idea herself. Genius!
