Masha and Kambiz celebrated their beautiful Persian wedding ceremony in the intimate Crystal Room at the historic Willard Intercontinental Hotel Washington DC. Suburban Video filmed all of the elegance of the bridal partys preparation for the day. The world renowned Erwin Gomez as always was perfection with the brides makeup and Giselle of Elegant Hair designed the brides stunning hair. Len Depas from The Photographers Gallery alongside Bill & Cara Bowen captured all the romantic energy of the bride and groom. Photos were taken around the hotel grounds and at the Tidal Basin across from the Jefferson Memorial. Masha and Kambiz toured historic Washington, DC in a horse drawn carriage and arrived in grand fashion for the reception. Suburban Video projected their arrival onto a theatre screen simulating their walking right out of the carriage into the Willard Ballroom as they were introduced as husband and wife. The world famous Moin from Iran kicked the reception off with dynamic sounds and traditional songs and energized the crowd. Lili loves our cinematic style so we made sure that her video captured that same essence. The bride and groom got ready at the groom's home. After putting on all the finishing touches, the bride and groom met for the first time that day. Ali was speechless when he saw his beautiful bride. After doing a photo session inside, we went outside where they had an antique Rolls Royce car. A beautiful addition for a beautiful wedding. The couple arrived in style at the Villa Christina where they immediately began the Aghd. All of their friends and family witnessed this joyous event as the officiant declared the couple husband and wife and they signed their legal contract. After the traditional Persian ceremony everyone journeyed into the ballroom for the reception that would continue late into the evening. Ali and Lili made this trip very enjoyable for us. They were very easy going and as sweet as could be. "I say (these) words to you, marrying brides and bridegrooms! Here's a quick clip of my cousin's wedding in Ardebil, Azarbaijan, Iran during my trip in the Summer of 2005. For all the great comments from all of my ignorant Persian and non-Persian brothers: This was simply a video to display a lovely culture during a wedding. When Minoo and Farzhad saw our videos on YouTube they fell in love with our cinematic style of shooting and editing and called us immediately. Minoo, the bride, had all of her makeup and hair done at the Marlou Salon. She looked stunning with the natural sunlight coming in through the salon windows. Farzhad got ready at the Crowne Plaza hotel with all his groomsmen there. After the couple finished getting ready they saw each other for the first time in the hotel lobby. It was a touching moment when the groom handed his bride to be her bouquet of flowers. For the photo/video session, they did a walking tour of historic sites throughout Maastricht. This was one of the most amazing backdrops for a photo/video session. After the ceremony at the hotel, the guests headed to the reception hall. The wedding reception took place at Fort Sint Pieter, which dates back to Roman times and has now been restored to its appearance in 1701. This is a really beautiful area, pastoral despite the ominous walls -- the fort is an arresting sight looming over the charming hillside. The picture above is from their cake cutting, which had a very exciting lighting display. Thanks again to Minoo and Farzad for the opportunity to capture their special day.
