I don't know you But I want you All the more for that Words fall through me And always fool me And I can't react And games that never amount To more than they're meant Will play themselves out Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice You've made it now Falling slowly, eyes that know me And I can't go back Moods that take me and erase me And I'm painted black You have suffered enough And warred with yourself It's time that you won Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice You've made it now Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice You've made it now Falling slowly sing your melody I'll sing along

Recently featured in "The Five-Year Engagement" movie. The Bonus track from buying the DVD/Soundtrack combo pack of the movie Once. This Van Morrison cover is special. Truly special. Glen and Marketa make a hell of a team. I do not own this, Nor is my uploading it claiming any ownership rights. I could only find the live version of this on youtube, and thought people might like the studio version.

Marketa Irglova - Your Company Buy the album : itunes.apple.com Lyrics : I've got it all figured out, baby. You'll come home with me and we will laugh our worries away and you can stay as long as you please. Cos I'm really just glad that I could have met you. It's easy to see how much I like your company but I wouldn't dream of trying to keep you. Well you know how they say that love heals all fear. Well in a similar vein I thrive when you're near. But you've had your pain and you've had your grief and at the hardest of times she brought you relief. And you love her even if only for that and she knows that she saved you and she won't let you forget. But I remember the time that I sat beside you and your hand brushed against my knee. I thought I would die for that alone, instantly. But I'm sure you knew just how good that would feel Well I had good reason for not seeing this through. Oh but now I forget and I don't know what to do. But you can hold my hand. You can kiss me too just while I try and remember why I shouldn't want you.

With the help of Iranian singer-percussionist Aida Shahghasemi, Marketa Irglova crafts a lovely mix of the exotic and the familiar; of sweetness and longing. Watch the pair perform three songs in the NPR Music offices. Marketa Irglova - Divine Timing Buy the album : itunes.apple.com Time, how does it go? Sometimes fast; other times slow. But when I'm with you, time disappears. Weeks can feel like days, days can feel like years. I stood with you and time stood still. And can you kill time? Can time kill? Can we stay in our timeless romance? Freedom: what does it mean? Is it worth being chased? Does it come from within? Loving the freedom of choice, isn't that being free Could you freely choose to be bound to me ? When I met you, the planets did align and so is it not true that time it was divine? Too soon is as bad as too late. Yet here we are and was it not fate that brought you to me, that brought me to you? Oh, I will be good, I will be true. But I will not tie in our love in chains. We can run wild if neither pulls the reins. We can run free and have adventures of our own. Take the time if you need to be alone.

Czech singer-songwriter Markéta Irglová (known for her role in Once and collaboration with Ireland's Glen Hansard of the Frames) chose her favorite song and played it at NPR's World Cafe Holiday Extravaganza with Iranian singer Aida Shahghasemi.

Hi Everyone :) This is another beautiful song called "The Hill". Probably one of my most favorite song and movie soundtrack. I have been meaning to do a cover of this song and tonight was just the time that I got inspired to finally create my rendition. I hope you'll love and enjoy this song too as much as I did. :) Original music by Marketa Ieglova. She's just genius, I might say. I admire her so much. :)

Lyrics: So, if you ever want something And you call, call Then I'll come running To fight, and I'll be at your door When there's nothing worth running for When your mind's made up When your mind's made up There's no point trying to change it When your mind's made up When your mind's made up There's no point trying to stop it You see, you're just like everyone When the shit falls all you want to do is run, away And hide all by yourself When you're far from me, there's nothing else When your mind's made up When your mind's made up There's no point trying to change it When your mind's made up When your mind's made up There's no point even talking When your mind's made up When your mind's made up There's no point trying to fight it So, if you ever want something And you call, call Then I'll come running

Markéta Irglová sings a song Since You And I Were True for ABC Dig Music, Sept 2009. It was written by John Spillane in traditional Irish singing style. Pauline Scanlon taught it to Marketa. This song is heard on the documentary The Swell Season Maith an cailín = Good (the) girl It's words of praise. Since You and I Were True lyrics 1. We might as well lie down love, lie down and close our eyes. We might as well go walking in the country of the blind. Chorus: Well the long grass has grown, the wild birds - flown to their homes away in the blue. And ah nothing is the same. The whole world has changed since you and I were true. 2. How can a story be ended when it didn't hardly begin? How can a glass be so empty when it's filled up to the brim? Chorus 3. In the country where we're heading love, there is nothing but rocks and stones. No friendly plant or animal, no angel to guide you home. Chorus, Repeat verse 1, Chorus
