JAIN ARCHAEOLOGICAL HERITAGE SYSTEMATICALLY UNDER DESTRUCTION ( 1 BC)

Historic and Archaelogical Jain Sites in Tamilnadu, India-which are regularly vandalised by locals to evade any proof of existence of Jainism. This site is approximately 2000 years old. A cave where Jain saints like Thiruvalluvar ( kund kund) use to do Tapasya(meditation). Jainism being oldest religion of India as well as world is being targeted to be systematically destroyed by local interests. This place is called Sholaipandipuram a small village near Thiruvanamalai. Jain Thirth Samrakshini committee is least bothered to look after even a single site in Tamilnadu. Same goes with local Tamilnadu Archaeology whose officers are involved with local profit making miners. We need to wake up to save our old historic and archaelogical heritage. This video is taken immediately after this site being vandalised by local Village officer and Tahasildar also involved. They have their interest in illegal stone quarrying as well as well balanced agenda to destroy any existing proof of dravid Jainism There are over 500 similar Jain archaeological sites which are now on the verge of destruction. This place has importance for aborginal dravid Jains who were originally Jains later converted forcibly to accept lowest form of hindu religion - Dalitism.

Jain Temples Khajuraho - Devotee's Delight

Situated in the heart of the country's central region Madhya Pradesh, is the fascinating town of Khajuraho. The tranquil town has a rich cultural heritage reflected through the numerous temples and an 'olde worlde' rural atmosphere. The Jain temples in Khajuraho have great religious significance attracting devotes from all over the world. Khajuraho in India is one of the top tourist destinations, with the Jain temples contributing their fair share. Khajuraho is located in the Bundelkhand district of Madhya Pradesh. Many years back, during the Chandella rule, many places in Bundelkhand including Khajuraho home to some of the very large and greatly flourishing communities of Jains. In Khajuraho, Jains people mostly inhabited the eastern parts of the town. They built a number of Jains temples there some of which are still present. Though there are nearly 31 Jains Temples in Khajuraho, some of the chief ones are the Adinath Temple, the Parshvantaha Temple and the Shantinath Temple. Almost all the Jains Temples are presently encloses within a large compound wall which was constructed in the early twentieth century. Ghantai Temple is an exception.

Bhoomi Pooja for Madurai jain Heritage centre .wmv

Sri jinaya namah: Dear All on 22-8-10 at Madurai bhoomi pooja (foundation stone laying ceremony) was conducted to have a building for the very recently formed Madurai Jain Heritage centre. Although Madurai ,upto 7th century CE was the Home land of the Jains due to heinous acts of forces which operated against Ahimsa Dharma,Jains were forced to leave this city and migrated towards North .they have left behind the hills which are most precious than their lives with heavy heart. All the hills in and around Madurai are Jaina Hils only. Upto Kanya kumari on can see the Jaina imprints in all the hills. these have caves, sculptures, inscriptions, paintings in some, stone beds. A long list of these hills are available. Now, these hills are now days increasingly subjected to untold miseries! quarrying, vandalism, misuse, etc In the prevailing situation of minority- mejority, rich nd poor, vote bank politics these sacred hills some of which have inscriptions dated back to 3rd century BCE are left uncared and subjected to destruction. who will care the pains of the Minorities-that too a community that is a microscopic minority one. so we have to stand on our own legs!!! It was decided to start a centre at Madurai called Madurai jain Heritage centre with the following aims Protection of these hills from destruction to make these hills known to Jains of other states particularly Nort indian brothers and sisters, and to the world to conduct conferences, meetings, deliberations ...
