Elvis in Concert (1977) - Introductions by Elvis: James Burton

When Elvis returned to live performances in 1969 he asked James Burton to put a band together for him. James stayed with Elvis from 1969-77 and played lead guitar in all of Elvis' 1100+ concerts. Elvis usually called him his favorite guitar player. When he met Eric Clapton during the early seventies he offered to send over JB so he could teach him a little bit. ;D James Burton's nickname is "The Guitar Hero's Guitar Hero". He is hugely admired by about everyone in the business. The "chickin' pickin'" style he created is legendary. On a list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists" by Rolling Stone Magazine James is #20.
