Captain James Cook departed Hawaii after one month, to soon return to Kealakekua Bay as a result of a broken foremast on the Resolution. This decision proved costly as Captain Cook's return was not welcomed by the Hawaiians. This would result in taunts by the locals including the theft of their long boat. Captain Cook did not tolerate this and as a result attempted to take the King of Hawaii hostage until the long boat was returned. The Hawaiians resisted any attempt made to take their King onto the ship. Soon after Captain Cook and the Marines were forced back to the beach where they were attacked by the Hawaiians.

Rated R - Contains the "F" word. With this character, its hard to cut around him swearing. Song & Artist at the end. Never thought I'd finish this. I'm pretty sure I finished this because I loved the coloring. And I know I didn't do all that good on the audio edits. I think that Skins has probably the best character development of any tv show or movie I have ever seen. LOL I just realized I didn't add in what Cook was convicted for. Most of the quotes that would have an explanation towards his sentence were filled with f-words, and I *try* to keep swearing out of my videos, but sometimes its impossible. He was charged with assault on some poor guy in a previous episode.

James Cook gehörte zu den größten Entdeckern und Seefahrern aller Zeiten. Er brachte es aus bescheidensten Verhältnissen stammend, dank seiner Begabung und seines Fleißes, zum ersten Offizier. Cook wurde 1768 zum Kommandant der "Endeavour" befördert und erhielt den Auftrag, den gesamten Pazifik wissenschaftlich zu erforschen. Insgesamt unternahm Cook drei ausgedehnte Reisen. Anlässlich der ersten Reise versucht Cook die berühmte Nord-West-Passage zu finden, zwischen dem Pazifik und Atlantik. Dabei stößt er auf den Hawaii-Archipel, den er zu Ehren seines Gönners und Förderers, dem Earl of Sandwich »Sandwich-Inseln«, nennt. Dort nehmen ihn die Eingeborenen freundlich auf, denn sie halten ihn für ihren verschollenen Gott Lono. Auf seinen verschiedenen Reisen, macht Cook sensationelle Entdeckungen: er beweist die doppelte Insel-Natur Neuseelands, er liefert detaillierte Beschreibungen der Maoris, die fantasievoll waren, doch auch diebisch, streitsüchtig und sogar kannibalisch und bei denen sich nur Häuptlinge tätowieren lassen durften. Er durchfuhr die Torres-Straße, erforschte die Küste Neu-Guineas und schilderte in vielen Berichten das Leben der Eingeborenen. Aufgrund eines eher dummen Zwischenfalls, bei dem es zu einer Streiterei kam, wurde James Cook am 14. Februar des Jahres 1779 auf Haweii erschlagen. Casco da Gama hatte den indischen Ozean für die Portugiesen erforscht, James Cook eroberte den Pazifik für die Engländer.
