Captain Janks prank calls the MDA Telethon back in 1991 disguised as Larry King and asks host Jerry Lewis what he thinks of Howard Stern, prompting Lewis to call Janks a "schmuck". Now, for the first time, the infamous (off-air) prank call set-up is included here. Janks calls MDA Telethon producer Jim Brown disguised as Larry's producer, "Pat Piper" and convinces him that Larry would like to come on-air via phone to make a donation to the telethon. After several back and fourth phone calls between the two of them, Janks convinces Jim Brown the call is legit by playing "snippets" of Larry King's voice with a cassette player into the phone. After what appears to be "Larry" on the phone, Jim transfers the call onto the live show, and Jerry Lewis.

Here is one of the humble beginnings of my path to becoming America's Student Leadership Trainer (sm) and America's Community Service Advocate (sm). This was actually my second appearance on the MDA telethon on behalf of Circle K International. My dad stayed up most of the night to record this for me. Serving as Circle K International President while a full-time college student at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh was the culmination of my student leadership journey, which began while I was a Key Club member and attending a convention in Green Bay, WI. At that convention, I volunteered to become a state leader by raising my hand and saying "I'll do it!" when no one else would step forward. That led me into leadership as a student, into student government, into developing the abilities and talents that I would need to found and head a multi-state mortgage company for ten years, and to serve as the most honored advisor in the history of Circle K International. I now channel all of those leadership experiences into showing college students how they can change the world by serving others, through the development of their leadership skills and abilities.

Warm Greetings to all.. My name is Petrina Zaphir and I am an AUSTRALIAN TV Journalist. I was also shocked by the disrespectful and cavalier treatment of Mr Jerry Lewis, and his unceremonious ousting as host and USA National Chairman. Jerry is also the International Patron for Muscular Dystrophy. Several weeks ago here in Brisbane, Australia, I was privileged to be granted a one on one interview with the Hollywood Living Legend regarding his role with MDA. Please enjoy his views on a lifetime of philanthropy, including his plans for an Australian MD telethon, being awarded his Oscar for his 61 years of support, as well as his pride in being nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. My hope is that hearing the passion in his voice, and truly listening to his achievements, the campaign to at least allow Mr Lewis the dignity of saying goodbye at this year's MDA Telethon in Las Vegas as originally planned prior to his 'retirement', may gain international momentum. At 85 years young, Jerry Lewis is an outstanding example of perseverance, resolve and tenacity... and proof positive, that age is no barrier to anything we wish to accomplish. Cheers PZ
