The President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek delivered a welcoming speech to the 3rd edition of the European Innovation Summit in October 2011. Under the motto "Towards a European Innovation Ecosystem" the summit was organised in two major events. In Warsaw the focus laid on adapting EU research and innovation policies to national and regional contexts, and on increasing synergies between different policy areas. In the European Parliament in Brussels, participants discussed the role of people and talent for innovation and the challenges of innovation funding and financing. The organisers would like to thank the President for his contribution to the European Innovation Summit and for granting the patronage of the European Parliament to the part that took place in Brusssels.

We support their development, we help them create their own characters and establish their own perspective. As President of the European Parliament, I have become a patron of the Polish national campaign to encourage daily reading aloud to children.
