Three Treasure Sword, Three powers Sword, Three Spirits Sword and other names I have heard it called, but more over they all reffer to Groups of Ideas like: (Jing, Qi, Shen - Essence, Vitality, Spirit) (Tian, Ren, Dadi - Heaven, Man, Earth) (Yi, Qi, Li - Intention, Breath, Power), all to strengthen ones body, mind and spirit! Daoist Master Sung Jin Park, used to describe the Three Treasures by comparing them to a burning candle. Jing is like the wax and wick, which are the substantial parts of the candle. They are made of material, which is essentially condensed energy. The flame of the lit candle is likened to Qi, for this is the energetic activity of the candle, which eventually results in the burning out of the candle. The radiance given off by the flaming candle is Shen. The larger the candle and the better the quality of the wax and wick, the steadier will be its flame and the longer the candle will last. The greater and steadier the flame, the steadier the light given off and the greater the light. I hope all can enjoy objectively...

These eight immortals are all Daoists. The stories about them have been very popular among Chinese folks. In the Wudang mountains there is an eight immortal temple dedicated to them. Passed down from Gong Baotian to Gong Baozai, the postures of ba gua jian move along a "line", as compared to the postures of tai ji jian, which move along a "plane". This fundamental difference is reflected in ba gua quan's "open-body" torso and narrower footwork, which though less horizontally stable than tai ji's turtle back torso and footwork, has the benefit of enhancing limb-internal organ tugging connection. As in pao chui (cannon fist), ba gua jian is practiced inside the eight trigram circle, its postures entering the eight palaces along the perimeter of the octagon expressing the internal organ/body region and animal of that trigram (eg. 0:54 chien, head, Lion; 1:12 dui, lung, Ape). Presented here is part of the sequence, performed in linear fashion, only partially adhering to directionalities of the eight trigram map.
